weekly insta update

I hope you all had a great weekend!  My husband and I both finally had a weekend off together and celebrated his up-coming birthday with a bit of shopping and dinner with the in-laws. I am the worst about returning items I’ve purchased online that didn’t work out. I have a basket of sorts near the front door that hold my “to be returned” items.  Needless to say, today was all about returning and unfortunately did not bring home any exciting purchases (except for thee husband 🙂 ).  Below are the past week’s Instagram posts and all the details.  Enjoy!

I gotta say, I love love love these skinny pants.  I wanted a pair of olive skinnies that weren’t jeans, but weren’t exclusively dress pants either so I could wear them for work and play. I didn’t want to spend a lot either since I’d only wear them a few months out of the year.  Old Navy to the rescue!

Had fun print mixing last week.  Somehow it just makes work more fun? Or something like that 🙂 I gotta say something about these flats also. For the most part, I can wear any shoe for up to 6-8 hours comfortably standing on my feet all day at my job.  Past that time, there are very few flats I have found that keep my feet comfy and look stylish also.  I have a really old pair of Me Too flats and a couple pair of Lucky Brand flats that hold up after a long day fairly well. However, my LB flats got thrown away from being so worn out.  The MT flats are still in my closet, although they look pretty dated.  I used to have a pair of Tory Burch Reva flats, albeit expensive, were amazing but I wore those into the ground also.

I took a chance on these Sam Edelman flats since they are somewhat “in-between” pricing comparing a cheap brand to luxury, and I’m so glad I did!  I worked a 12 hour shift on the first I day I wore them, and my feet were the most comfortable they’ve ever been after a long day!  Crazy crazy!  I ran home and ordered a black pair as well – both on sale!  However, I would recommend avoiding “Circus by Sam Edelman.”  I picked up a pair of this “more affordable” line awhile back from Nordstrom Rack and they are awful.  I’ve worn them a couple of times and are already in my eBay pile.

You all know about my love for plaid.  It may have been in the 80s outside, but air conditioning says it’s ok. 🙂
