Work Look: Prim & Fun

One of the main reasons I started blogging a couple years ago was because going through pharmacy school, they wanted us to dress “professionally”; I would eventually start my career path with a company that only requested “business casual”, but either way – outfits were boring! At the time we couldn’t wear jeans to work (it’s a whole new world now), but even if I was to wear a pencil skirt or dress pants at work, I had to create fun outfits or I was doomed. If I don’t like my outfit, the whole world is going to feel it that day! 😝

Even if I was to switch the jeans out in this outfit for blue dress pants, the end result is the same – prim .. maybe a little proper.. and a lot of fun! The tie-neck blouse keeps things work appropriate, but the dots, leopard print, and bright marigold color keep it fun. My jeans are actually a high waist button fly if you can tell from the picture. I usually have to size up on high waisted jeans; I did on these also, which created more of a straight leg look versus skinny – I rolled them at the bottom when I created this outfit – kind of giving them a “boyfriend” look (but not too relaxed) – and I was really happy with it!  This is pretty much my 2018 work look. 😊
