Fall Trend: Henleys

The cute little button up shirts are everywhere right now. I worked for Abercrombie & Fitch for several years when I first started college classes (circa early 2000’s lol), and these henley shirts bring me right back to that time! #nostalgia Actually, A&F is making a comeback, did you know that? Along with AE? Crazy.

Fun Fact: I left A&F for awhile to finish up my bachelor’s degree, and later applied to become a manager for our local store. I forget what happened, but someone (clearly much smarter than I), recommended I start my Master’s Degree and look into teaching (bio/chem). I instead got a part-time job at CVS as a pharmacy technician while I finished my Master’s, and then later went on to get my Doctorate as a pharmacist. Can you imagine if I’d taken that job at A&F? I honestly can’t say I 100% feel I made the right decision on pharm school (but that’s a whole other non-blog related rant about our job security), but I would have never met my husband, I definitely would have never moved to Florida, and think of all the friendships I’ve made along the way from Indiana-Ohio-Florida. My entire life would have been different had I made that one decision. Crazy, crazy to think about!

Anywho – we don’t have an A&F locally, but we have several AE stores. I stopped in this weekend at our local mall, and I gotta say… I was impressed! I picked up several tops (see my camo waffle tee #ootd from this weekend’s post) and going to share my other finds this week sometime! These waffle tee are so, so soft!

That being said, if you feel a little old walking in to AE/A&F (no shame… I’m sure I looked like that old lady who thinks she’s still 21 trotting around 😂), these henleys are everywhere right now. Mine is from Target ($15!) and comes in this cream color and black. It’s incredibly soft. I do recommend sizing up one if you don’t like tight fitting shirts. I picked up a medium and it fits comfortably without that ‘cling around the middle’ feeling.

I love that this Target version is short sleeved, so still comfortable while summer lasts, but I’m on the hunt now for a good long sleeve version. I really want a stark white color. I’ll let you know when the search is over. 🙂 See below for my other top henley top picks!
