When It’s Still Hot: Fall Transition

Alright ya’ll, I’m getting really excited for fall clothes over here! But… it’s still 110 degrees outside. Boo. However, when the temps are still high and you start to see the jewel-tone colors released and start thinking fall, just work with your closet a little! The biggest thing with fall transition when it’s still hot out, is of course wearing lightweight material, but also using white or a light tone as your base. When I think of true fall colors, I want to wear an olive top with black jeans and booties, or say more of a merlot color with dark denim. Keep thinking olive and merlot… but with a lighter base to match. And you can still throw in a small dose of leopard and snakeskin to stay trendy.

Below I created 4 summer friendly outfits using my favorite fall transition colors (merlot, rust, olive, marigold… or a variation there of ha).  Hope your week is going well!

Fall Transition Outfits

Outfit #1:

I fell in love with this sweater tank in store before it even available online. It’s long and perfect for skinny pants or jeans. I’ve already styled it with distressed denim and open toe booties as well. It’s incredibly soft, only $15, and comes in 3 color options. Fits TTS.

Outfit #2:

One of my new favorite colors is this rust color ~ almost pumpkin! I paired a rust striped tee with this fall cardigan and summer denim skirt for a summer-friendly and fall-coloring inspired outfit. Paired with a turquoise necklace and leopard shoes and you have a great fall transition outfit.

Outfit #3:

These rompers I tell ya, are one of my favorite summer purchases from Amazon (I also have this one in navy blue)! They are incredibly casual, but serve their purpose for a casual summer look that involves anything outside. I wore this romper the other night to dinner at the beach and brought my jacket for the sea breeze that kicks up when the storms roll in. Otherwise it’s perfect as a swimsuit coverup or anything outside basically!

Outfit #4:

Disclaimer: my top is old. I know, stinks ~ it’s like several years old. But I love it so much it never makes it to the Poshmark pile and I don’t think it will anytime soon unless I grow some more (it is a little tight in the armpit area ha!). However, I thought to wear it because LOFT just released their latest version and I’m in love with the new lace tank just as much as this one! The new tank is a different type of lace – more traditional, but also more versatile. My tank isn’t great for tucking into skirts and such, whereas the new version appears more streamlined and can be worn tucked in or out.

Mustard and marigold are always top choices for fall. There are about 15 variations of the same color, but they all work the same in my opinion and pair well with a lot of color combinations. I paired my tank with white denim to keep summer alive and a simple berry colored pendant necklace to bring in fall with the marigold color.
