One of my favorite ways to mix up an old outfit is to try new color palettes. I’ve found Pinterest is one of the best places for inspirations and recently I found new ‘pins’ with so many fresh ideas for mixing and matching colors!  The website is called “Your Color Style” where you can make your own palettes, but so so many are already pinned on Pinterest I’m pretty sure it would take months to try them all and never need to create your own.

The picture below is the one I found on Pinterest and was used as inspiration for my flatlay below. How cool is that?!  Maybe I need to step out of my comfort zone, but I would normally would never mix grays, blues, and black in one outfit. Here is the Pinterest link to the color palette below and if you scroll down past the picture, Pinterest automatically shows you a ton of other color palettes created on the same website. You’re welcome! 😀

A Unique Palette

My flatlay creation based on the above color palette:

Halogen scallop sweater, Rebecca Minkoff bag, Sam Edelman flats, Baublebar necklace, LOFT Marisa pants

gingham flats (old – Sam Edelman) – similar, similar, similar

floral skirt + tank

Bright colors. Floral prints. Jeweled necklaces. Ahh I love this time of year with fashion!  I always go into a “lull” sometime in January and also around June-ish because I’m either anxiously awaiting the pretty spring colors to arrive (like now!) or fall colors in late summer. Right now I’m in spring color heaven and want to scoop all the pretty floral, ruffle, gingham, sparkly, pink things! 💗 Meet exhibit A. This gorgeous kelly green pencil skirt. 😍 I also want to give a shoutout to this structured sleeveless top.  It comes in 9 colors (including striped), is only $15 and perfect for summer since it easily tucks into a pencil skirt and stays put.

work outfit flatlay: fringe tweed skirt + sweater

Simple but elegant. That’s how I love to feel at work, even if I’m really just running around feeling completely frazzled. #realworld This tweed skirt is beautiful and has all the pretty pastel colors with a touch of navy blue (or black… I can’t really tell lol). I paired it with a gray sweater, but would love to step outside the box a little and see how a fuchsia top (ideawould look!

work outfit: pink & yellow

I’ve had the combination of a light pink and citrus yellow in my head for awhile now since last spring’s J.Crew catalog which told us all this was a color combo we needed.  I realized this spring I don’t own a lot of yellow in my closet and thought this pretty skirt would be a great addition.  I added a trendy ruffle-sleeve pink top and a couple of hot pink accessories for a little flare.  It’s not a combo I would reach for automatically, but I think I like it! 💛

My top is currently 40% off and skirt is 30% off!
