I’m always on the hunt for cute, casual tops that transition from work to weekend. Peplum tops are one of the best way to do that. The cute ruffle detail dresses up an otherwise average knit tee, and I’m always been a huge fan of the way they hide any extra tacos you might have fit in the night before! 😆
My peplum below is a new brand I’ve not tried in the past. It’s called “AQUA” and an exclusive to Bloomingdale’s. I would compare this line to a mix between Nordstrom’s Halogen and Caslon line. A mix of dressy and casual and affordable pricing. This top comes in 2 colors – gray and black – and is currently 30% off ($27). It’s very stretchy and a really soft knit. I ordered my regular size (small) and would say it fit perfectly. The v-neck did not feel too low either.

Happy Tuesday! I don’t know why though, Tuesday is just not Monday so it’s only a little better! 😆 Today’s outfit is featuring this awesome faux wrap top. I was immediately attracted to this spring ‘pink honey’ color, however it comes in 8 colors! I didn’t even know what to do with myself with that many color options ha! However, it matched my new floral scarf from LOFT perfectly, so it was a no-brainer. I’m wearing a size small-petite in the top, which is my normal size for this brand. I originally ordered a size down per the brand recommendation, but found the XSP size to be too short in the arms. It’s 100% cotton, so I would be hesitant to size down. My normal size ended up fitting darn near perfect, with just a little extra room in case it shrinks.
size tip: I’m 5’2″, ~130 lb. and normally wear a size XS/S on top and 28/6P on bottom.

Just a quick post today to share a couple new arrivals from Target! I picked up these 2 sweaters recently and couldn’t wait to share them. I wore the exact outfit below yesterday. It was super comfy for 50 degree weather. This cross-front pullover sweater is fleece lined and pretty warm. I’m wearing a size small. It fits me fairly long in the back and perfect as a tunic. It also comes in 3 plain color options ~ burgundy, white, and black. Only $20. The cross-front design is really popular and trendy right now.

The second sweater is also tunic length, but a little lighter weight. Still really soft in texture, but definitely more of a sweater (not fleece). I just changed into it real quick for a picture, but I normally would probably style this sweater with regular jeans and booties or sneakers. It also comes in a blue/white striped version and honestly I couldn’t decide between the two! I decided on the gray since I have so much blue in my closet right now. Since it’s pretty different from the sweater fleece above, and has the peach color detail, it was different enough to warrant the gray color. 🙂
I’m wearing a size small and would say it fits TTS. Mules also fit TTS. Only $18.

Excuse me while I indulge in all things pink until February 15th?! 😍 My sweater comes in 3 colors and this ‘pink flamingo’ color was in my shopping cart online before I could think twice! This same sweater was released last fall in a short sleeve version. I originally ordered a plain jane heather gray color and decided I couldn’t style it in a fun way and ended up returning it. I’ve regretted it ever since. When I saw J.Crew Factory had released the same sweater in a 3/4 length sleeve and in this fun pink color, I knew it must be mine! I actually wore this sweater pretty much out of the bag for this blog photo. As you can see in the stock photo, the bow is tied a little looser or differently than mine. I only messed with it a little before leaving it as-is for the photo. I think because I was worried about cleavage showing and the bow tied up higher was comfortable for me. I think I like the stock photo look better though, so I’ll play around with tying it and see if I can feature this again different in a flatlay or #ootd photo soon.
Instantly I knew I wanted to style this pink color with leopard. Always my go-to when I want a little classy… and a little sassy. 😝 Just as easily as a pair of dark wash jeans, the sweater could pair with black jeans/work pants as well. A fun option would also be light color gray pants and printed flats/pumps. I have an old ivory pencil skirt I may try for a work look also. Endless options!
Hope you all are having a great week so far!

Ohhh, it’s Monday again. Meh. 😑
My husband and I had a nice relaxing weekend. One of our dogs had surgery a little over a week ago to remove a cancerous tumor that returned on his leg. I guess to avoid a circulation issue, the vet has it wrapped from his paw all the way up his leg to the shoulder area with a tie going up over his back. He’s been very good about it and we haven’t had any issues with him chewing on the bandage, but between our work schedules, dog sitter, and plans outside of work we’ve tried to stay close to home and not be gone for very long in order to keep an eye on him. So our weekend consisted of a short trip to the park near home, a Target run (spring new arrivals are coming in!), couch time, and that’s about it! I actually quite enjoyed the quiet weekend. I hope you had a good weekend also!
I only work 4 days this week, so I actually shouldn’t complain about it being Monday ha! But I have a dental cleaning appointment so that kind of ruins the whole day. 😝
I named today’s outfit ‘holiday leftovers.’ Spring new arrivals are starting to hit stores which is really exciting – I love the fresh, bright colors! But until then I’m trying to come up with ways to style holiday favorites into the new year. My top is a tie-neck (in the back) sleeveless shell. It has a velvet dot pattern and ruffle hem around the neck. I wore it the first time with leggings and holiday red earrings (original flatlay post here). I’ve also tucked it into a skirt for work. I decided to go casual for today’s post and dress it down a bit. Camel and black have been one of my go-to color combinations this fall/winter and so it was easy to come up with this outfit.

I love the freckled detail on this sweater. The mock neck is different than what I’m used to. At first I wasn’t sure if I liked it because it it’s almost like an oval shape if that makes sense? And I’m sure everyone’s shoulder/neck alignment will make it fall in a different way, but it’s just different than the norm circular shape. However, I grew to really like it and glad I picked up this sweater. It comes in 6 color options, but this gray color was by far my favorite. It has dark gray/charcoal and cognac detail speckled throughout the knit texture, so it was easy to pair with these cognac booties. The sweater full price is only $40, but currently on sale for less than $30. My booties are $35, and my bag only $40! Aside from my jeans, a very affordable outfit!
Everything I’m wearing fits TTS (I’m wearing a regular/small in the sweater).
*size tip: I’m 5’2″ and ~130 lb. and normally wear an XS/S on top and 28/6P on bottom.

Today’s outfit is actually a flatlay come to life from a couple weeks ago! I switched out the necklace from the red earrings, but otherwise everything else is the same. Funny story. I think I mentioned weeks, maybe a couple months ago, that “we don’t wear tights in Florida.” I think I might fully retract that statement. 😂 While we mostly still have hi temps in the 70s, we certainly are getting our fair share of cooler weather with lows in the 40s and highs in the 60s – maybe my skin has just thinned too much down here, but those temps for are good enough for tights in my book lol! I actually think I’m going to pick some up this week as I really thought I’d be wearing more skirts this winter, but every time I try my legs are freezing! So, imagine this outfit with tights on ha!
Back to the outfit – camel & black is one of my favorite “dress up and go” looks. You know I love leopard, so a nice trendy scarf completes the outfit. J.Crew Factory is one of my favorite places to pick up wool skirts. This was my one wool skirt purchase this season so far, so I apologize if you get sick of it. ☺️ I used to buy their pencil skirt versions every year, but just can’t justify wearing those anymore, especially with how busy work has been lately. I gotta be able to run (literally, ugh).
My sweater is one of the most versatile pieces I own. It’s a little fitted, but not in that uncomfortable way that I wouldn’t wear it with jeans or pants also. It’s just so easy to tuck into skirts, comes in a bazillion colors also, that I buy one every year to pair with my wool skirts.

I wanted to kick this week off with a new clothing brand (to me)! The blouse I’m wearing is by a brand called “CeCe.” I’ve only really seen the name at Nordstrom, but noticed both Macy’s and Dillards carry it also. I guess CeCe must be a department store brand then? I’m not sure, but after looking at all of “her” items, I fell in love with it! The line is reasonably affordable (I would compare to Ann Taylor pricing or maybe Halogen at Nordstrom). I really liked that all the items are not only somewhat trendy, but classy also. Since my workplace changed our dress code a few months ago to “business casual”, I’ve been looking for tops that somewhat go with everything; whether jeans or skirt, or even on the weekend, I can make it work. I used to have a “work closet” and “casual closet” and now I really need to mesh everything together. I still have casual tank tops and Free People tops I know I’ll never wear to work, but I want those items to stay few and far between.
So this is my first top by CeCe and I really like it! It runs tts and ever though the sleeves are puffed, they are not too tight. They actually fit perfectly. Definitely a nice surprise. I ordered this top from Nordstrom (free shipping + free returns), but it’s also available at Macy’s here. See the bottom of the post for my top 3 CeCe tops on my wish list!
I also have a new pair of jeans on! They were my Christmas present to myself. 🙂 I don’t buy premium often, but these jeans are butter and I know I’ll wear them all the time. They fit tts.
Size tip: I’m 5’2″ and ~130 lb. and normally wear a size XS/S on top and 28/6P on bottom.

Casual Look: Athleisure
I don’t post athleisure outfits too often, but I realized the other day – I really should! If I’m not working, working out, or riding the horses, I literally spend the rest of my time in outfits just like below. Usually because my off days are spent running errands to the grocery, Target, or other essentials (Target is always an essential lol).
I can’t recommend these leggings enough. They are usually always on sale for less than $20 and wash really well. I’ve washed and worn them numerous times and never had an issue. I’m wearing a size medium/regular. My long sleeve top is also a new favorite. I’m wearing a size small. A little oversized, but in that perfect way. It comes in 3 colors and the gray is now on my wish list!
