Every year I purchase a leopard sweater, and every year I tell myself, “self, no more.” Well, 2 were cardigans that have been sitting in my closet for awhile and haven’t been touched, so I sold those on eBay and allowed myself one (ha) sweater this year!  This is a pullover (not cardigan) and I really like it. The best part? It’s on sale for $12!!! It comes in 3 colors (brown, grey, and green). I really like the gray/black print also. If a cardigan is more your style, it comes that way also!

Check out other prints of the pullover as well.

#ootd ~ Tartan Plaid

Sorry, no flatlay today on the blog! 😕 I’ve had so much fun keeping up with flatlays and daily outfits I got pretty frustrated last night when I couldn’t publish today’s post. If you’re reading this today (12/12) it’s late in the day. I worked til 9 pm last night and usually come home and write a quick post for the next day before bed, but last night technology and me were not agreeing lol!  I couldn’t get the blog to work, my affiliate ShopStyle to work, nor Instagram! My husband might tell you ‘user error’. 😝

So here we are, the next day after work at 5 pm. I’m just going to post today’s #ootd and then hopefully get my flatlay post ready for tomorrow. Hope you all are having a great week so far!

One of my favorite ways to mix up an old outfit is to try new color palettes. I’ve found Pinterest is one of the best places for inspirations and recently I found new ‘pins’ with so many fresh ideas for mixing and matching colors!  The website is called “Your Color Style” where you can make your own palettes, but so so many are already pinned on Pinterest I’m pretty sure it would take months to try them all and never need to create your own.

The picture below is the one I found on Pinterest and was used as inspiration for my flatlay below. How cool is that?!  Maybe I need to step out of my comfort zone, but I would normally would never mix grays, blues, and black in one outfit. Here is the Pinterest link to the color palette below and if you scroll down past the picture, Pinterest automatically shows you a ton of other color palettes created on the same website. You’re welcome! 😀

Scarf & Booties

Happy Monday friends! I took a few days off from blogging for a horse show this past weekend – it was actually the first time I’ve shown my new horse I purchased earlier this year. She unfortunately isn’t quite ready for the big shows yet, so we took her to a small local show to see how she would act. She was horrible the first night before the actual show started (bucking, rearing, leaping… you name it!), so I was pretty nervous! I used to climb on anything when I was younger, but in my 30s now, the idea of getting bucked off does not sound fun. My trainer rode her hard, and thankfully she was much quieter the day of the show.  I rode her easy and didn’t ask much.  We placed in everything, with a handful of 1sts and 2nds, but I honestly couldn’t even keep track of the placings – all that mattered to me was she was good and we accomplished getting through our first horse show!  We now have our work cut out for us to get her ready for the bigger shows either at the end of this year or early next year, along with having a vet out to make sure all her ‘mommy’ parts are in order and aren’t causing hormonal issues.  She’s been shown on and off over the last few years by previous owners with no issues, but never been pushed to learn harder classes like we have been teaching her, so we aren’t quite sure where her ‘tude is coming from – she’s acting like a bratty toddler lol!

Anyway – this is style blog, right? 🙂

This weekend Florida finally felt like fall.  With highs in the 60s/70s and lows in the 40s/50s the weather was perfect! And this outfit is exactly what you will find me in.  My $19 scarf has so many pretty colors in it – and will carry right into spring! Below I rounded up some great other scarf options — all under $30 — because who wants to spend that much on a scarf?  And also some great booties!  All are under $150 at various price points — check out the cognac booties — only $38!

Balloon Sleeves & Embroidered Booties

I caved. I loved this sweater online and went to see it in store a couple weeks ago, tried it on, thought I wouldn’t wear it enough to justify the purchase, but couldn’t stop thinking about it! So I caved and went back. It’s just so dang comfy and will consider it my ‘splurge’ for the season. 😝 You can wear it on and off shoulder. I went with my regular size, but think I could have definitely sized down. A lace bralette underneath would look perfect if you want a little more ‘coverage.’ It comes in 6 colors!

Express sweater, Express leggings, Lucky brand booties

I just love these booties. The embroidery detail is cute and on-trend – and I love they are a lower heel so I can actually wear them for more than just dinner and a movie! They also come in a multitude of plain colors if the embroidery isn’t for you. Or if you’re feeling a little wild – I found some leopard print!

Celebrity Crush

I have quite a few celebrity girl ‘style’ crushes.  Reese Witherspoon for her classic style. Jennifer Aniston for her comfy weekend styles that anyone can wear. And most recently Christina El Moussa from HGTV’s Flip or Flop tv show, especially in the ‘early days.’ Her love for casual athleisure and skinny jeans with plaid shirts were very relatable! Recently she started wearing skinny jeans and moto leggings with ankle boots – I loved it!  Edgy and funky meets stylish and classic.

I went out on an edge here and mixed her styles together, but I was pretty happy with the result! Moto leggings are a hot hot trend right now. Most often worn with casual sneakers and a graphic tee, I loved styling them “up” a little. My plaid tunic was a part of the Nordstrom sale earlier this year, but I linked several options below.

Do you have a pair of moto leggings? What is your favorite way to style them? Outfit details below.

Fall Inspo

Hi everyone! I hope this blog post finds you well! It’s been a whirl-wind of a last month of so. We closed on our new house, we moved, we started to unpack (all while taking no vacation time from work), and then Irma powered through Florida and we found ourselves in Georgia for 5 days – it was madness! Thankfully our new home was entirely okay. We lost a couple trees (actually one is just leaning… we are going to just lean her back up and hope for the best 🙂 ), but no house/roof damage that we can tell.  It’s crazy to think I actually took the pictures below back during the Nordstrom sale 6 weeks ago! I thought we would move into the new house shortly after and I would move right back into blogging, but we decided to start house “projects” right away and one thing led to another… and here we are!

I guess I missed the #NSale with this outfit, but good news is that the weather should be about perfect now to wear a light jacket and booties. We are still pretty toasty down here in SW Florida during the day, but our mornings and evenings have cooled down enough it would be easy to go to dinner or a movie in this exact outfit.

This jacket is lightweight and could easily layer over a long sleeve tee also. And, because I waited forever on this post — it’s now on a great sale! Full outfit details listed below.

Rocking total comfort in these linen pants.  They tie in the front with a stretchy waist band, come in petite + regular sizing – and also come in pink and olive colors! Oh and they’re on sale + an extra 40% off – you’re welcome. 🙂 I also love this tee, perfect for summer and only $20. I couldn’t find my sandals in this exact color on sale, but they come in tons of other colors – which are all on sale and linked below. Happy Sunday all!

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday!  I took a few days off from social media the last couple of days, and although I still watched all the snapchat, insta-stories, and shopped new arrivals, it was nice to just look and not think . 🙂

Part of it may have to do with I’m becoming quite burnt out with our current house situation. In case you’re new to the blog, my husband and I are building a new home, but sold our older home really fast. Graciously we accepted my dad’s offer to stay in his ‘winter’ home which is currently empty, however it’s a villa and quite small. To put things in perspective, I have no more room for skirts in the one closet I’m using (that might be admitting I have a problem) and the entire guest bedroom is full of rolling racks and the bed is hidden somewhere under piles of clothes. Alright, I definitely might have a problem. 😂

The worst part is I miss my big mirror to take pictures with and the beautiful lighting we had in our old home.  Guys, I’m just not great with selfies!  Maybe I need a selfie stick lol. I dunno, I just had things going well with the blog and now feel in a rut.  The GOOD news is, our house is almost done. A quick walk-through last night showed we only have carpet in bedrooms, appliances, touch-up paint, and our lanai to finish + major cleaning from the dirty-bird constructioner people.

The bad news is we are ripping up the carpet and putting down wood flooring, which is a beautiful thing – but more time before we move!  So I’m hoping for 6 weeks and we can hopefully get moved in and I can get back to the “norm”. 😙

Ok rant over! – When I can catch my husband, avoid the Florida summer storms, and not have a heat stroke, we do have time to take some outdoor photos!

This dress is one of my favorite summer finds.  It’s only $18! And just really cute and comfy. My sandals are also affordable and come in a variety of colors (here).

Camo Jacket

I’ve been on the search for a comfy & lightweight camo jacket for a long time. I feel like there are quite a few nice ones released every year, but I wanted to make sure it was lightweight and I could easily roll the sleeves.  This one is even better because the material is kind of like pajamas!  Lightweight jackets and cardigans are my best friend during the spring/summer months when the air is cranking.
