Instagram Roundup

Hi friends! It’s been awhile since I’ve done an Instagram roundup – I haven’t posted a ton the last couple of weeks on IG (or the blog), so I’ll post what’s recent and relevant! I feel like I made a ton of purchases a month or so ago, but everything has sold out super fast this season! The sales have been really good this year and keep on coming!

Friday Favorite Flatlays

Time for another Friday roundup! I’ve been posting a lot over on Instagram lately (here), with a mix of flatlays and #ootd photos. Some are new items, some are just my regular everyday outfits (that might not be that exciting haha) – I figured I would pick the top 4 flatlays for the week and share with you! My flatlays always feature at least one new item and how I styled it with new – and mostly old items in my closet – so they are usually an IG favorite! As always, if the item is older, I will find the best similar option out there for you to create the same look! 🙂

Sunday: Wist List 10/6/19

All of these items are at the top of my wish list! The sweater is selling out fast ~ and comes in 4 color options! I love, love the fuchsia colored top just because I don’t own anything like it in my closet, and pairs really well with the skirt below. And Florida work friendly. ☺️ The jeans are Vigoss brand – an affordable and dependable line I’ve had in my closet for years. I would compare the quality to some of the higher end brands like Joe’s or 7’s. And hello ankle booties in…. leopard! 😍 And the earrings, just because. They are adorable. And won’t hurt my ears ha!

Hi friends! Lots of great items are on sale this weekend, including both sweaters and jeans below are under $50! I just ordered both pairs of booties (I chose the darker brown color of the Vince bootie, and light brown of the Lucky bootie), got them in the mail yesterday… and love them! The pointy toe on the Vince bootie is unique and incredibly classy! The Lucky booties I’ve wanted forever and so glad I finally scooped them up. You can find other color options in the Lucky bootie here. Also, so many Kate Spade accessories on sale! If you like her bags, the ones below are to die for!

#OOTD Weekly Roundup

Hi friends! It’s been a little while since I’ve posted consistently, and I’ve had a little blogger break and feeling a lot better! These long back to back 12.5 hour work shifts have taken a toll on my body and mind, but I’m slowly adjusting. If you guys are new to reading the blog, my workplace recently cut pharmacist hours and now almost all pharmacists are working alone open to close. It’s brutal to say the least. I was trying to push blog posts before bed, and first thing in the morning in between shifts, and it just honestly wore me out. I want so much for this blog to be a full-time part of my life (you know…. to replace some income so I’m not working these crazy shifts all the time 😜), but between fighting the social media algorithm and trying to stay sane, my body finally told me it’s time to rest. I honestly thought for a couple days it might be time to sunset the blog. Needless to say, rest is a wonderful thing, and I’m excited to get back into posting, just maybe not on 12 hour work days. 😋

Today I thought I’d share a few #ootd photos, literally spaced out from the last 2 weeks ha! Florida cooled off a couple weeks ago at night and breezy warm during the day, but then temps slowly started creeping up again, so these aren’t exactly ‘fall outfits’, but I have a feeling I won’t be in true fall fashion until November. #someday Lol.

And please disregard photo #4… you might notice my phone changed! Say hello to the iPhone 11 Pro! My old phone was the original iPhone X from 2 years ago, so I was excited for the change! However, I have no idea how to work the photos properly and new editing tools. They are the same as the old phone… and not the same… Lol. User error apparently.

Chambray Shirt: 4 Ways

Hi guys! Today’s blog post is all about chambray! I sold my only chambray shirt a couple years ago – it was actually from J.Crew (non-factory), and I always hated it. It was stiff, kind of scratchy, and had this strange western vibe lol. I finally replaced it with this Old Navy tried and true, been around forever, season after season, version! I don’t know what took me so long, maybe because chambray was really beaten into the blogger outfits years ago? Well, I’m feeling it again and it’s certainly had a refresh in the latest outfits popping up, so I thought I’d give styling it a try with current trends! And don’t mind my co-worker… he starts out chewing on his bone, then decides I’m boring and falls fast asleep by outfit #2, and then jumps up on the bed and starts snoring by outfit #4. 😂

Outfit #1:

Jean on jean. This combination has been around for quite awhile and I love the fresh vibe using leopard accessories. A leopard belt would work also. You could also wear a darker chambray shirt (here) and a light wash jean as well.

Outfit #2:

Chambray + patterned skirt. My exact skirt is old, but about any pattern would work! Think of chambray as a neutral. You can find the newest version of my skirt here.

Outfit #3:

Colored jeans + printed shoes. I switched out the leopard for snakeskin here, but either would work! Also, any pair of colored jeans are an option – olive, mauve, marigold, you name it!

Old Navy chambray shirt, Express jeans, Steve Madden snakeskin mules

jeans (old): burgundy option, lots of color here | mules (old): great option here

Outfit #4:

This outfit is for all my Florida girls! Wear the chambray and beat the heat. 😎 Another jean on jean look, but wearing a printed tee underneath for a pop of interest.

Old Navy chambray shirt, J.Crew artist tee, AE denim shorts, Steve Madden sandals

tee: J.Crew | shorts: AE | sandals (old): newest option

And last but not least – my sleepy co-worker who couldn’t even wake up for a photo op!

I hope this blog post helped you guys have a renewed interest in chambray with your own closet! Let me know what outfit combinations are your favorite this year. 💗

Fall Flatlays

Hi guys! I wanted to round up and share a few flatlays I’ve posted on Instagram! I’ve picked up a few new items that will transition you right into fall, and some are older pieces I’ve re-created new ideas based on inspiration photos I’ve seen lately. Hopefully you are enjoying all the new color combinations and prints available this year – I know I am! 💕

A New Plaid:

This is one of my new favorite tops!  I just love the cobalt blue/burgundy combination. A perfect transition piece, especially since it’s a linen-blend and perfect for the heat still! My clutch color is old, but I’ll link the same clutch in new colors – and also a similar clutch in the burgundy color.

top: Old Navy | jeans: Express | mules (my color is sold out): Trask

Camo Sweater:

I first saw this camo sweater in store and fell in love. I just love the camo print matched with the white stripes. It has a wide neck, so you can wear it off-shoulder or somewhat on (which is how I would style it). The texture, fit, and colors are the prefect mix. I also had a little fun and mixed the camo with my new favorite snakeskin bag — love it!

sandals: Steve Madden | earrings: Amazon

Fall Neutrals:

I saw this rust cardigan in store in recently and instantly fell in love with the color. I have this same style of cardigan in 4-5 other colors – it’s by far my most worn cardigan to work. I’m always freezing, and since this is longer it keeps me extra warm even though it’s lightweight itself. It’s been sold out online for awhile, but the same color is made in a different style (linked below). My top is older, but I’ll link a leopard top I love ever more that would also match perfectly with this rust color.

A Fresh Gingham Style:

I’m always on the hunt for new ways to style this gingham shirt that I’ve owned for years, and is still available! That’s when you know you’ve got a good closet staple. I recently saw a J.Crew catalog ad featuring a similar shirt, blue blazer, and light colored jeans. They used silver shoes which was a bit much for me, so I switched out for a white mule – and added the leopard necklace, because, well – duh. 😆

shirt: J.Crew | jeans: Old Navy | necklace: J.Crew Factory

Another Leopard Tee:

Alright, I know, I know. Another leopard tee you ask? Well, yeah. I mean… this one is different! It’s gray and black – so, definitely required for my closet. 😉 Now I need to find ways to style it! What do you think of the olive jacket? My exact jacket is old, but I found a very similar option with the raw hem!

tee: Old Navy | jeans: Joe’s (old) – very similar | jacket: Nordstrom (old) – option, option

Leopard, Marigold, & Black:

Based on another catalog photo, this time from Sole Society, I loved the way they matched a leopard top with a marigold bag and black accessories! I pulled out an old leopard top of my own to re-create the look. I used a denim that has a slight gray cast to pull in the black booties more easily. Everything in this photo is older (I found one link for my booties, almost sold out), but I found near identical pieces you can use to re-create the same look yourself. LOFT has a very similar print available now also.

Just Because:

Every fall I have the itch to create a flatlay or outfit with olive jeans and a ton of neutral accessories. You might recognize the white tee from earlier this summer. I created a similar outfit with the same jeans and sandals. Basically you just up the ante for a fall look and add some layering pieces.

When It’s Still Hot: Fall Transition

Alright ya’ll, I’m getting really excited for fall clothes over here! But… it’s still 110 degrees outside. Boo. However, when the temps are still high and you start to see the jewel-tone colors released and start thinking fall, just work with your closet a little! The biggest thing with fall transition when it’s still hot out, is of course wearing lightweight material, but also using white or a light tone as your base. When I think of true fall colors, I want to wear an olive top with black jeans and booties, or say more of a merlot color with dark denim. Keep thinking olive and merlot… but with a lighter base to match. And you can still throw in a small dose of leopard and snakeskin to stay trendy.

Below I created 4 summer friendly outfits using my favorite fall transition colors (merlot, rust, olive, marigold… or a variation there of ha).  Hope your week is going well!

Fall Transition Outfits

Outfit #1:

I fell in love with this sweater tank in store before it even available online. It’s long and perfect for skinny pants or jeans. I’ve already styled it with distressed denim and open toe booties as well. It’s incredibly soft, only $15, and comes in 3 color options. Fits TTS.

Outfit #2:

One of my new favorite colors is this rust color ~ almost pumpkin! I paired a rust striped tee with this fall cardigan and summer denim skirt for a summer-friendly and fall-coloring inspired outfit. Paired with a turquoise necklace and leopard shoes and you have a great fall transition outfit.

Outfit #3:

These rompers I tell ya, are one of my favorite summer purchases from Amazon (I also have this one in navy blue)! They are incredibly casual, but serve their purpose for a casual summer look that involves anything outside. I wore this romper the other night to dinner at the beach and brought my jacket for the sea breeze that kicks up when the storms roll in. Otherwise it’s perfect as a swimsuit coverup or anything outside basically!

Outfit #4:

Disclaimer: my top is old. I know, stinks ~ it’s like several years old. But I love it so much it never makes it to the Poshmark pile and I don’t think it will anytime soon unless I grow some more (it is a little tight in the armpit area ha!). However, I thought to wear it because LOFT just released their latest version and I’m in love with the new lace tank just as much as this one! The new tank is a different type of lace – more traditional, but also more versatile. My tank isn’t great for tucking into skirts and such, whereas the new version appears more streamlined and can be worn tucked in or out.

Mustard and marigold are always top choices for fall. There are about 15 variations of the same color, but they all work the same in my opinion and pair well with a lot of color combinations. I paired my tank with white denim to keep summer alive and a simple berry colored pendant necklace to bring in fall with the marigold color.
