Happy Friday friends! I hope you had a wonderful week ~ I’m excited to have the weekend off work again! I might head back into my local LOFT store ~ after scooping up some closet basics last week, they went and released some really cute items this week! Check out this leopard sweater – it’s different and I love the spin on an old print!
Below is another roundup of daily outfits this past week.
I still really like this wrap front blouse. It now comes in 7 beautiful prints. I did size down one based on reviews, and for my short waist, it works fine. However I would recommend your regular size if you have a long torso. I don’t find that it runs overly big.
A plaid dress for fall. I’ve been on the hunt for one and fell in love with the simplicity of this dress and the pretty burgundy color. I sized down one. It comes in 3 other colors if red isn’t your thing. 🙂
You might recognize this outfit from a flatlay a couple weeks ago – I can now tell you these sneakers are pharmacist approved! I was only able to get away with wearing the jacket to the freezing cold store, but can’t wait to put it to the running test outside! I took my regular size in the jacket. Originally I had purchased a size up, but didn’t like the bulkiness for running. I think it could go either way if you are only going to use it for everyday activities.
Right now everything at LOFT is 40% off! It’s been awhile since I’ve walked into a LOFT and thought “oooo” – I’ve actually had better luck at their outlet store. However, soo many things caught my eye online lately, that I had to go check them out in person. Below are some fitting room snapshots of what I tried on, what I kept, and what I put back. Spoiler alert: Too many things came home with me. 🙂
These jeans and this sweater both made their way into my closet. The sweater is actually pretty thin, so perfect for our “fall” weather down here, but could easily be layered under a jacket or vest. It’s also incredibly soft and I loved the mixed media ruffle hem. The jeans were a random surprise – I’ve been looking for more distressed jeans, but ones that aren’t too over the top (like holes every 3 inches) – these were perfect! I purchased petite in both items. Fit TTS.
This skirt was the reason I went in store. I can’t resist a good windowpane/plaid print, and this is one that will be a closet staple for years to come. I have last years print in black/red (buttons down the side – soon to make a blog appearance!), but wanted a white/black version. My red/black skirt is hard to mix more than just gray, black, white, etc. – this white/black skirt will be easier to mix with not only neutral tops, but colors like maroon, olive, red, etc. Fits TTS.
I grabbed the tee just because I thought it was adorable, but I didn’t bring it home. It’s super cute, but I was spending enough already!
Both this sweater and olive pants came home with me. The sweater was another item I had on my wish list and went to check out. It did not disappoint! I love, love the cuffs and the black/white stripes are just prefect. I wanted it to tuck into a couple of my corduroy skirts, but when I saw these olive pants, I picked those up heading to the dressing room. I’m still on the hunt for new olive jeans, but these pants are a beautiful color. Again – closet staple for work. Fits TTS. I purchased petite in the pants and regular size in the sweater.
Last, but not least, these are two items that did not come home with me. Now – I picked them up together thinking they would pair well. They did not. The sweater was too long and oversized for the skirt. I tried tucking it in, but it was just too bulky. However, individually these are both beautiful items. The sweater is meant to be untucked, with a curved hem, and would look fantastic with leggings. It comes in a quite a few colors. The reason I didn’t bring it home is that I think it has acrylic in it, or a touch of wool, which is way too much for Florida right now.
The skirt on the other hand, is quite thin, and although that would be perfect for Florida, I just purchased those Old Navy plaid pants and decided the print was too similar. So, if you’re looking for a skirt alternative to plaid pants – here it is! The skirt has a touch of pink and blue stripes.
Hi guys! So if you saw my Instagram feed from last night, you know this week hasn’t gone as planned! From taking a couple days off earlier in the week, and then we lost Internet for over a day due to construction cutting wires, I’m way behind lol! Thankfully my wheels had already been turning earlier in the week when I was thinking about changing things up on the blog a little and I was planning on turning Fridays into either a “flatlay comes to life” post or “Friday roundup” or the past week’s outfits.
You also know how entirely hot Florida still is, and the forecast is showing high 80s during the day 2 weeks out! 😩 If we are going out to dinner or somewhere I know will be chilly, I’ve gotten away with a light cardigan and booties, but for the most part I’m still in full summer gear! That being said, work is the one place I can wear all the fall clothes to my heart’s content! My co-workers like it freezing and keep the air blasting at 69 degrees. Since I usually work 4 days per week, I figured that would be a perfect amount of photos to take for daily outfits and round them up for Friday’s post.
Anyway, so here goes this week’s outfit posts! You will probably recognize several of them from flatlays!
I was pretty excited to put this outfit together after making a flatlay – I still love this skirt so much from last fall and was happy to see it brought back to the Outlet store! It matches perfectly with this lightweight blouse, but can be paired with so many things. My favorite from last fall was a striped turtleneck tee – which I plan to re-do for this year!
I feel pretty profesh in this outfit ~ all while having fun with the print & color! The belt can be removed on the cardigan also. I played around with it tied and removed, and ended up liking it better tied. I left it loose so I wouldn’t get too terribly warm, but could easily be worn more like a cardigan jacket and tied tightly.
Still love this pretty bow sweater! There are only a few sizes left in each color, but definitely worth it on sale if your size is left in stock. I’m wearing my normal size, but probably could have sized down one also for a more fitted look.
Hi guys! Sorry it’s been a minute! I loved that I was able to post a few outfits lately on the blog, but ran into some scheduling issues with the photographer (aka husband lol) and haven’t been able to post the last week. I’m going to share a roundup of my daily outfits from last week – some flatlays in between – and hopefully get back to sharing regular blog outfits next week!
I also wanted to share a great sale with you happening now for the next few days — as you can see below in my daily outfits, one of my favorite brands for jewelry is Baublebar! They are fun, lightweight, great quality, and jazz up any outfit! Any item right now is 20% off, 2 items are 25% off, and if you buy 3 items or more you get 30% off! That’s a great deal as Baublebar new arrivals rarely go on sale. Shipping is free if you spend $25 – and you get points to use for discounts on future purchases. Check out my favorite picks below. 🙂
Hi Ya’ll! I had to stop in and tell you about a great sale today! The best deal is in-store only, where Old Navy is selling everything 40% off – plus if you are an ON, GAP, or BR cardholder you can get a coupon for an extra $15 off $60! That’s huge! It also includes the Pixie pant which I feel like never goes on sale or has a great deal — I picked up 2 pairs for work! Excluding the scallop shorts and sandals (I purchased those a couple weeks ago), everything else shown I picked up last night for just a little over $100! I had the cashier run 2 different transactions so I could use the $15 off $60 twice.
Old Navy isn’t one I buy everything from, but certainly cute seasonal pieces that you know you’ll wear a few times and sell — but I also love their Pixies for work (they do last) and also I have several pairs of their running shorts – I like them better than Nike Tempos! Those are pieces to stock up with and will be cute for years to come. I can’t wait to style a few of these pieces for you, my gears are already rolling with the yellow gingham shorts. 😉
*Size tip: The Pixie pants are accurate if you check out inseams online (tall, regular, petite), however I usually buy the next inseam up. In this case, petite fits me perfectly, but I sized up to a regular inseam because in the past they have shrunk a bit in the wash. I’ll keep you updated on these two pairs after washing them! Old Navy pants also fit me a little tighter – I size up on the waist also in their pants and shorts.
Thank goodness it’s the weekend! I had to work… and have a work meeting tonight, but somehow, it’s still the weekend and it’s just better. Am I right or am I right? ☺ I wanted to pop on here and show some outfits from this past week — I’ve been a little absent on the blog, but still snapping photos and have all eyes on newly released items and sales! 😍
In somewhat of the bummer news category, you might have noticed Polyvore was bought out by another company a couple weeks ago – and turned it into a retail website only (called ShopSense). I felt lost – truly! Polyvore was my #1 tool for creating outfits using old items in my closet and new items I considered buying. I did a quick search online and found a couple of alternatives that I may try. The first one is the closest alternative to Polyvore I could find on the web – called ShopLook. They claim they are working hard to create an environment similar to Polyvore and will upload a “clip” tool by 4/27 to pull items from retailers and will therefore enable outfit creations using any fashion item on the web — I hope!
The other option is an app called Stylebook. I’ve actually had this app for a long time, but could never quite get into it because of the work involved. Initially you had to take photos of each item in your closet, using the most perfect white background, “cut them out” on your phone, and “add” them to your online closet. The idea is wonderful – to have a virtual closet of every item you own at your fingertips – but aint nobody got time for that! I think since the app was released you can now upload images taken off the web and they also have a “calendar” for outfit planning and an “inspiration” section to upload web images of style inspirations. Both of those ideas I love! So, I might give this app another chance. But I also might throw my phone in the trash if their uploading feature for items is not better than it was 2 years ago. 😂
I’ll update ya’ll in a couple weeks and let you know if I still have patience and a phone. 😆
Below are a few top-down photos I’ve taken over the last week — hope ya’ll had a great weekend!
