#Nsale Top Picks

Hi all! So I definitely found some great items at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and can’t wait to share them with you here today! I did order all items online as I didn’t have time to shop in store (our closest store is in Naples, 1.5 hours away, boo!). I placed a few different orders over the last 2 days as I wanted to see what caught my eye first, and then ordered items later I couldn’t stop thinking about. I also ordered without looking at other bloggers top picks to see how we compare in choices!  I wanted to make sure I picked out items I truly liked without feeling #peerpressure telling me I need all the things! (Ok, I sometimes still feel that way ha!)  I was excited to see reviews (positive) on a couple pairs of booties and a pair of jeans I picked out. I have yet to see any bloggers choose flats for work I ordered + a few blouses.  So we shall see! One order has already shipped and waiting on the other two orders. I’m hoping I can get everything in the mail and do a try-on before the sale is open to the public on July 21st and help provide a positive direction in what I love and what I returned! I thought I would go through “types” of items and review what I loved, what I ordered, but what I also love but didn’t order due to my bank account hating me. 🙂

I ordered both pairs of these jeans. On the left are premium denim. I purchased last year’s version from the sale, and love them. I wore them all the time last fall/winter and they were worth every penny!  They are the same “type” this year, except they have a raw hem. Since I’m short, I will likely have to roll them up to a cuff, but still worth it! The second pair are Vigoss and only $42!  I’ve always loved Vigoss jeans for the price and quality and this is a great opportunity to try them out (remember Nordstrom offers free shipping and free returns!).  I’m hoping both of these fit like previous pairs I own.

All of the jeans below are very affordable and all caught my eye!  I don’t need a pair of black ankle jeans so I passed on the left.  The other 3 pairs I wanted to order, but knew I needed to limit myself. 🙂 We will see if I pick up any extra work shifts in the next couple of weeks and maybe…. treat myself? Ok, maybe just pay off my card!

These are 2 pairs of premium denim that I would have also ordered in a heart beat if I could afford it! The pair on the left were probably a little long for me though, so I would only recommend them if you are 5’4″ or taller. The pair on the right were reviewed by a fellow blogger and she said they are perfect for her 5’2″ frame!

Boots & Booties

I fell in love with both of these right away!  I ordered them in my normal bootie size and hoping they fit!  I have seen numerous bloggers review the booties on the left (they also come in a beautiful gray color), and say they run a little small. My feet are small and narrow (size 5.5 oy), so I usually ignore what others say – hoping this applies! I haven’t seen anyone review the booties on the right yet, so let me know if you have — otherwise I hope I can give a great review for you all.

The booties/boot listed below I also loved, but didn’t order them for the following reasons:  The top 2 booties are very similar to ones I ordered last year (still available) which I love and wore all the time!  So I was trying to reach outside my comfort zone a little. 🙂 Otherwise I would highly recommend both pairs! The tall boots are worth the investment, 100%, however not when you live in Florida. 🙁 I have one pair of tall boots and rarely wear them unfortunately. So for me, they were a no.  The bottom left peep-toe bootie I also have in a gray color from last year and also love, and highly recommend!  The last peep-toe bootie I love the look, but it’s a 4″ high heel and that’s just too high for my comfort zone lol. I know they wouldn’t be worn often, so wasn’t worth the investment for myself. However, they are beautiful! *Note: all of these booties come in multiple colors!

All of the tees listed below are super affordable and great basics for your closet.  I ordered the left 2 tees in the exact colors shown. The v-neck tee has ‘raw’ edges and I’m pretty excited about it! – only $16! It comes in 5 colors and I have a feeling I may be ordering a few more. The striped tee in the middle is just another version of a tee I have multiple colors in, and only $18!  I wanted to avoid “things I don’t need” in my closet, but what’s one more navy/white striped tee….. no?  🙂 The tank I have in ivory from last year and although I do like it, it’s rather sheer and wearing layers in Florida kinda feels ‘eh’ to me, otherwise I would recommend it!  The long sleeve I would have ordered, but it was sold out in my size and I wanted this exact color. Will be waiting for my size to restock.

Ohh the tops below all have my heart! The scallops, the ruffles, the plaid… I love them all! The top row, burgundy colored blouse you might think is familiar if you’ve followed my blog for awhile — it is!  They brought it back this year in numerous colors and I highly recommend it. I wore it quite a bit last year, especially for date nights. P.s. – all of these tops are pretty affordable and none of them are designer. Every single top below also comes in multiple colors!

These were my 2 picks on bags this year. I really didn’t want to order a designer bag and spend the money since I primarily carry totes to work, so I stuck with fun and affordable. The bag on the left ($53) is “normal” and will be nice for an everyday carry all. The bag on the right ($36) is fun and cute.

However, the bags below are pretty and drool worthy, especially for the price!

Alright ya’ll, at this point you are probably thinking I spent way too much money lol! I definitely did, but I only usually order expensive, closet staple items during this sale that last me all year long. Last year I ordered both a pair of Sam Edelman flats and Tory Burch flats that I still to this day wear the heck out of for work. They are the workhorses of my closet. I wanted to spice up my closet a little this year, and opted for the fun gingham print, gold toned, and “giraffe” print instead. All of the flats below come in completely normal colors also. 🙂

Misc. and other notables

I love the cardigan on the left, however held off (for now), knowing it has no place in my closet til about December lol! I did order the jacket last second today, and also the long pendant necklace. If you’ve ever wanted a Kendra Scott necklace, these are both classic pieces at a great price!  I didn’t order either the sandals or the sneakers because I don’t need them at this time, but they are super cute and if only I had all the pennies they would be mine. 🙂

All done!

Thank you for reading and I hope you guys enjoy the sale as much as I do! Remember, the sale is only open to cardholders until July 21st, and then everyone can enjoy!  If there was only one item in my closet I could purchase and wanted a workhorse item that will last, I would recommend either A) the Tory Burch flats or B) the AG denim. If those are too expensive, the Kendra Scott necklaces above are beautiful pieces that will last forever and less than $50. They make great Christmas gifts also!

flash sale

Hello all! I hope you had a wonderful weekend!  Lets kick this week off with a little surprise flash sale at LOFT!  Everything is 40% off + free shipping! I love that because sometimes you want just one item and talk yourself into buying more to get the free shipping. I ordered both the dress and linen pants (but in gray… my size was sold out in pink, boo!)) In case you missed my Instagram yesterday, I posted the striped skirt in a top-down selfie – it’s perfect for summer!  I really want the striped cold-shoulder top and straw tote but trying to be good (ha). I’ve been eyeing this straw tote from Target which has a little color (and only $20), so I might run and grab up that one instead. Straw totes are the deal this summer so you need just one (at least 🙂 ).

Oh wait, there’s more! I had to add these lovelies also!  (I have the top right chambray from last week’s blog post……. LOVE!)

Hi all!  I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend. I hated to take some time away from the blog after rolling out the new layout, but it was a nice weekend to honestly “unplug” without any pictures at all – not even Instagram!  My husband and I both took 4 days off together and it was lovely just relaxing and unwinding.  Since I don’t have any current content to update you all with, I thought I would catch up on some random Instagram photos that never made it to the blog. Happy short week!

instagram lately

Hi friends!  As you can tell I’ve been living in my Tory flip-flops lately. Florida decided it was August instead of April and these are the most comfortable sandals I own for runnings errands and doing a lot of walking. They are expensive, but worth the price, especially on sale! Listed below are my Instagram round-up photos from the last week or so. Hope you all have a fantastic week ahead!
