Cozy Sweater Look:

This sweater is the coziest, comfiest thing ever. It doesn’t have any wool, so no itch, it’s an acrylic blend. 8 colors to choose from also!  It was the 407 almost 5 star reviews that hooked me also – wow! I knew it had to be good. I styled it originally with black leggings and mules (see the ‘Flatlays’ tab above), and wanted to soften it up a bit with white jeans and taupe. And tomorrow is a low of 44 degrees – so you might be looking at my Thursday #ootd! 😂

I hope your week is treating you all well! I’m on vacation from work this week, but have a huge “can’t avoid anymore” list of things to do like an oil change, cleaning, and of course Xmas shopping for parts of my family I have no idea what to buy them lol!

size tip: I went down one size in the sweater (wearing an XS). Reviews say it runs large and I agree.

I’m 5’2″, ~130 lb. and normally wear an XS/S on top and 28/6P on bottom.

Holiday Work Outfit:

Hi guys! Excited to share some new outfits on the blog this week, but we’re doing it throwback style with indoor photos! I stopped taking photos like this awhile back because of the lighting in our new house, but ahh you know what – you do what you gotta do!

I fell in love with this ruffle back top. It’s a new arrival from Cyber Monday and I ordered it right away – so happy I did! The material is called “crepe” which basically means polyester — and you know sometimes poly is alright, and sometimes not alright lol! Thankfully this poly is really good. The material is thicker, so good for winter and a base layer, and not flimsy. Fits tts (I’m wearing a size small). Also has some stretch. Comes in 3 colors (red, white, black).

Saturday Sales

Guys, I’m so so excited to bring back ‘Saturday Sales’ and ‘Sunday Wish Lists’ to the blog on the weekends! I had to stop for the longest time because the days of Polyvore came to an end. There was no easy way for me to create outfits like below (I don’t own Adobe photoshop or anything like that), and I was really bummed. It was one of my favorite ways to create outfits and share them on the blog! However, rejoice!  A new company took over allowing a way to create outfits like below, but it wasn’t very user friendly at first. Originally, you could only use their actual database of items to create an outfit (and unfortunately no items loaded were from stores I shop at), so it wasn’t a viable option. Just recently they’ve made it pretty user friendly. I still takes me a little longer than Polyvore (you have to manually upload links/photos), but it works! And I guess in the long run that’s all that matters. I’m a pretty happy camper! ❤️

Christmas Outfit Flatlays

Hi everyone!  This week has been busy busy since the holiday. I snuck in that Black Friday post on Thanksgiving Day, and then had to work 40 hours in 4 days. I’m pretty sure I was barely alive on Tuesday (lol), and then back at it Wednesday. Thankfully I have to work tonight, and then off work for 10 days!  There have been quite a few new arrivals at stores I’m excited to share with you all, I may have to head to the mall this weekend or early next week for try-on photos at LOFT –  I love to see their new stuff in person!

I’ve been sharing when I have time over on Instagram since it’s so much easier to get a post up, but wanted to update with a  roundup here and add any tidbits about outfits I don’t have the room for on IG (like sizing, textures, etc.). Hope you all had a great holiday!

Outfit #1:

I had fun with this outfit! Lots of color and bling! You could easily tone it down with blue/brown flats (there is blue in the plaid shirt) and nix the velvet clutch. I envisioned wearing this to my work Christmas party or if I was working Christmas Eve. I need to find some nice flat booties for work also. Now that we are back into “seasonal” hours, which are more days per week, but shorter shifts, I can get away with wearing comfortable booties. On cold days down here, I could easily wear this with tights and booties to work.

Outfit #2:

Tartan plaid. Always a holiday favorite. This shirt is a tunic, fits TTS, and perfect with leggings. Of course I had to make it a little more fun and add the leopard flats, but I honestly would wear it with the gold flats to work (in the above flatlay) also!

Old Navy plaid tunic, Baublebar necklace, Ann Taylor leggings, BP leopard flats, Sole Society bag

Outfit #3:

Oh what joy! Hehehe. I love this t-shirt. Love it. I think it’s meant to be sincere and joyful! But, if you’re like me, and work in retail…. interpretation is up to the reader. 😂 Because every time a technician hands me over to a cranky patient because of a situation out of my control, I will be pointing to the words on this t-shirt ha!

*note about skirt: My skirt is from last year and is black – this year’s version is a dark navy blue – the same look can be accomplished, and in my book you can keep the black shoes (or switch them out for navy…. or gold!)

Banana Republic Oh What Joy! T-Shirt, LOFT plaid skirt, A New Day cardigan, J.Crew Factory necklace, Merona pumps

Outfit #4:

Although the outfits above are crazy fun, and holiday outfits are meant to be bright & cheerful – I love the more serious tone of this outfit. It still has Christmas colors, but a little more office appropriate without the joyful and loud red color. I love both, but this traditional look has my heart. ❤️

Work Look: Floral Blouse

Ever since my workplace switched our dress code out to “casual” several months ago I’ve been all over the jean train and trying to make it as a casual blogger. Occasionally you’ll see me wear a skirt still, but mostly jeans. Jeans of ever color, maybe some chinos, but pretty casual none the less. I’m not gonna lie though – I’m getting a little bored with it! Work is busy, I’m on my feet literally running some days from one side of the pharmacy to the other (so jeans are better… always haha), but I do miss a good fun professional-esque work outfit.

So for today’s outfit post, I pulled out an old pair of work pants and styled them with this awesome new silky blouse and felt really good about it! This blouse has all the colors also. I saw it in store and fell in love. I paired it with pink pants, but it’s has blues, and grays, and pinks, and purples, and browns lol – you name it! It’s a beautiful blend of color.

I’m unconvinced also that at some point my work will take it all back and say “no more jeans”, so I hold on tightly to my favorite pants. I sadly listed most of my pencil skirts on Poshmark, but I know they won’t all sell – and I kept my favorites just in case. 😁

Casual Look: Striped Sweater

Hi guys!  Back this week with a casual outfit that’s so easy I love it! We took this photo on a cooler day last week and this merino wool sweater was perfect for our weather. Today… I was sweating again. In a t-shirt. 😝 Gah. But it’s getting cooler finally and our mornings are lovely, so I need not complain as I know a lot of you are fighting the snow already! If I was back home in Indiana I would wear this sweater with a silk-like (poly hello… lol) shirt underneath. So if someone could put a black with white polka dot shirt on under the sweater, let me know how it turns out because in my brain it turns out pretty awesome.  😆

Dressing Up Casual

The last time I styled this henley pullover was with black jeans and peep toe booties. I thought about putting together another ‘flatlay come to life’ post, but thought it would be fun to dress the henley up a little differently. It’s a very casual sweater and easily paired with about any dark wash or dark colored jean. The stock photo is paired with a pair of green cargo pants, so I thought why not try a similar pair of green chinos, throw on some heels and a pop color…. and call it an outfit? 😄

The henley is on sale right now also – only $20 and comes in 6 colors!

Spring in Fall

Hi everyone! Today’s outfit post is a flatlay come to life – that was at the top of my “Friday Flatlay” roundup last week! I love bringing these outfits to life. More often than not I throw a flatlay together as soon as I’ve decided to keep a piece in my closet (I would never show you guys an item I don’t intend on keeping. Not to call other bloggers out, because I don’t know for a fact that they do this – but I’ve read recently on other posts that a lot of bloggers buy things only to return and “shill” their finds. I write here to provide inspiration to you guys via clothes, new trends, new ideas, etc. but if I felt an item wasn’t worthy of keeping – I wouldn’t buy it in the first place lol! Ok rant wheel over. 🙂 Just had to get that out ha! ). So I usually put the flatlay together, jot down a couple outfit ideas if I have more than one for a piece – but sometimes I do have to slightly alter the outfit.

One example would be the black & white v-neck sweater shown last week in a flatlay. I love the sweater, but it fit a little shorter than expected with those jeans, so I would adjust to either high waisted jeans or tuck into a skirt. And that’s just because I carry my weight in the middle, not that the sweater is that short. I just prefer to cover up all the cookies and ice cream I’m addicted to. 😝

So anyway, this outfit actually came out just fine! I switched my jeans out only because the jeans in the flatlay were in the laundry, and I grabbed my new Sole Society bag (love!) – but other than that my vision worked out as planned! Yay!

And no lie – I was sweating during this photo – but, Florida is supposed to finally have a cool down this week. Lows in the 40s/50s and hi around 70. That’s sweater weather for this girl! The crappy part is, it usually only lasts like a day or two and then warms up again. So I have to play eenie-meenie-miney-mo on what sweater I want to pick to wear. 😝

However, this is a great sweater. It’s a little longer like a tunic, merino wool so not all itchy, but keeps you warm also. Comes in a ton of colors, but I was instantly drawn to this aqua color. It’s also 40% off. 🙂 No code or card needed. With all the fall color tones out right now, it was nice to throw on something a little less “moody” – hence the name for today’s post – “Spring in Fall.”
