Flatlay: Cozy Sweater

Say hello to one of the softest sweaters! I haven’t shopped at GAP for awhile and just happened to glance in to see this pretty knit sitting on their front table. I fell in love with all of the color options and honestly had a hard time choosing – the turquoise blue color is gorgeous! I went with the gray since I have a lot of colored options in my closet, but I was pretty partial to the blue color. The yellow was very pretty also! It fits TTS and very comfortable.

Flatlay: Classic Blue + OOTD

I thought I’d kick my first blog post off for the new year featuring the Pantone “color the year” which goes to classic blue! I’m actually pretty fond of this color. Navy blue takes the cake during the summer and early fall months, but really a nice deep blue color is perfect anytime. My exact sweater is old, but I’ll link below my current favorites!

Also – check out these pretty loafers! They have a beautiful metallic thread that’s perfect for winter! And one of my favorite loafers for work. And they match any classic blue sweater perfectly. 🙂

#ootd:

I’m following a style challenge again this month on Instagram – the prompts are using the writer’s favorite flatlays found on Pinterest! I’m so happy she featured a couple of my own flatlays! So, if you follow other bloggers or follow Pinterest, some of my outfits my look a little like copy cats. Just thought I need to put that disclaimer out there ha!

Happy New Year!

Wishing all of my readers a very Happy New Year! This past year as certainly had more downs then ups for myself personally, and this decade has been certainly full of many life changes as I’m sure we all have gone through. I’m all sorts of ready for the new year and ready to take this life by the horns and make it better than ever! I’ve really started to appreciate the things that truly matter in life, and ready to  make some huge life changes.  Of course nothing I can mention on social media, 🙂 but you’ll know it when it happens! As far as this little space of mine, it’s not going anywhere. I’m more than ready to bring on spring content for the blog and hope that wherever you are and reading this, that there is some warmer weather and sunshine in your near future!

I also wanted to share my #topnine2019 from Instagram! I guess I shouldn’t give up my flatlay game! 😘

Flatlay: Plaid Skirt + Holiday #OOTD

This skirt. Is so ridiculously soft, it hardly feels like wool. It’s like a butter wool (I think it’s a poly/wool blend to be fair haha). Anyway, it’s a beautiful skirt. And I love the mix of yellows and grey that are a change from the dark moody hues and holiday colors. The skirt keeps selling out. I actually purchased it over Black Friday and since I took a little blogger hiatus + the dang thing kept selling out, I didn’t think it was bloggery of me to share. But, it’s now popping back up in various sizes and it’s now on sale + an extra 50% off! So, definitely worth the price. And worth the share. 🙂

I paired it here with a vibrant sweater to show how universal it can be with color, but truly you could style it with any shade of gray or ivory to keep a more neutral look.

Flatlay: Shaker Stitch Sweater + The “IT” Booties

Hi guys! If you’ve been following me on the blog for awhile, you know I go MIA on the blog when life changes seem to filter in. In this case, it was another huge work schedule change. Thankfully this time, it’s in a good way – going from 13 hour shifts to multiple 6-8 hour shifts throughout the week. On one hand, I’ll be working more though out the week, but won’t be near as exhausted at the end of the day. I think I’m going to go back to the way blogging used to be for awhile – where I post flatlays and #ootd photos as I take them, and update here in real time (at the same time as Instagram and Facebook). For awhile, I was doing a huge roundup when I had the time, but with the schedule change I’m not going to have a lot of whole free days to work on things. As you could probably see from my wish-list post yesterday, I do have a little spring in my step to dive into new arrivals for spring! While they won’t actually start hitting stores in full til mid-end February, I get excited just to see sweaters in spring colors. 🙂

My first flatlay “back” is featuring this awesome shaker knit sweater. It has a ballet neck (could be worn off shoulder) and is the perfect length to do either a front tuck or wear like normal. The neckline and loose knit give more interest also, and I just love the way it looks. The sweater also comes in olive and black colors.

I also wanted to share the “IT” bootie for fall! I waited and waited to purchase these bad boys (full price they run $150.. ouch.), but when they went on sale I didn’t hesitate. They truly are everything! Reviews suggest sizing up 1/2 size. I went with my normal size since sometimes I need to size down, and I don’t think they fit too small. I would say if you normally are in between your regular size or a size smaller, go with the regular (or vice versa if you sometimes size up ~ go 1/2 size up). And there are ten color options to choose from!

Sunday Wish List 12/29

Move over glitter and red, spring colors are already hitting stores! I’m pretty excited about this because I think Florida froze us to death in November and then forgot about winter altogether. It’s been in the 80s (feel like temp 87 today!) and while I’m sure jokes on me, at this very moment I’m feeling all the spring fashion. I have this sweater on my wish list (it also comes in 2 shades of blue), and would style it like shown below with light wash denim and cognac detail.

Work Outfit: Faux Leather Skirt

I have been wanting to add this skirt into my closet since last fall. I tried it on in store, fell in love, it has perfect 5 star reviews – but once it went on sale we were getting into the holiday season and I passed it by again….. til now! I finally picked it up over Black Friday and I’m so happy I did!  Faux leather is popular every winter, especially if you live where it’s cold because it’s easy to match with dark tights. This is my first faux leather skirt and it’s a first step out of my comfort zone of ‘normal.’ 😁

I wanted to show you how easy this hue is to pair with about any color sweater also! And of course blouses as well! I did try to pair the skirt with a Christmasy red sweater, but that itself is a no-go. The skirt is kind of a ‘cinnamon/rust’ color, so has an ever so faint hint of red in it already, and the stark contrast was not working. However, burgundy/merlot would work really well. Also, not a kelly green color, but a wintery forest or teal green would work for the holidays.

This rust color seems to still be going strong in stores also, so I imagine you could wear this right into spring with an array of pink hues, and of course a light blue like I wore last.

Also – please disregard the wrinkles. 😊 I took these pictures straight out of the bag after receiving the skirt in the mail – and the crease is from it being folded over. I normally hand steam all of my clothes, but I was terrified to do this with faux leather. (If anyone has experience let me know!). The directions say machine wash, cool iron if needed. So, I think to be safe – I’m going to avoid any heat!

This skirt is also currently on sale still + an extra 40% off! Use code: JINGLE.

Casual Outfit: Sweaters & Booties

Hi friends! Today I wanted to post a few outfits here I’ve been wearing lately on ‘cooler’ Florida days! Man, our weather has been ALL over – I’ve worn each and every one of these outfits over the last few weeks, but blink and it’s 85 degrees. Tomorrow we are in the 40s at night again! I guess this is also the time of year I hit a major blogger rut. I imagine bloggers up north do the same when Florida is 80 degrees in March and it’s still snowing in Ohio and all the spring new arrivals are out! I’m in the same boat – I love, love winter clothing and layering, but it’s just not practical for me down here. And I feel like a true ‘blogger’ outfit would show you something better then JUST a sweater lol. But, here we are. And honestly, I do love all of these sweaters ha!

Outfit #1:

I picked up this sweater during LOFT’s Black Friday sale – the reviews are mixed. It’s everything I expected and honestly I love this sweater. I ordered my regular size (small) and it fits just how I want it. Not too tight, but because of the style of the sweater I can tuck it into a skirt for work, or wear it like shown here for a little nicer casual look. The material is very soft and stretchy – which is probably where some of the reviews say it’s thinner – but hey, if you’re a Florida gal – this is perfect! If I was chilly though, I could easily throw a vest and scarf over top. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy this sweater, especially since it’s go the ‘spring’ vibe and will be perfect for months to come.

My sweater is currently 50% off with code JINGLE!

Outfit #2:

I love me some kelly green! There is truly nothing super special about this sweater in general – it’s got a nice thick collar and hem, which adds detail, and a nice comfy knit material. However, I love the coloring this time of year. It’s that hue you can wear now for the holidays, and then take you right into spring with lighter wash denim or a white skirt. There are actually 10 color options available, but I chose this one specifically for the green color. I love the bright blue also! And ahem, look at how well it pairs now with the leopard!

My sweater is currently 50% off! No code needed.

Outfit #3:

Disclaimer: My exact sweater has been sold out. It was an early fall new arrival that I couldn’t pass up, and loved it’s oversized look. I included it in today’s post because AE has released the same sweater in several other color options – solid colors and one striped option with limited sizing. Everything is 50% off and selling out fast! But, watch for returns and restocks – this sweater is very comfy and that perfect weekend style you can wear with jeans or even shorts in the fall/summer when it’s warmer with denim shorts.

All AE jeans are 30% off! I ordered this pair which has amazing reviews!
