outdoor oops

Today I decided, hey lets try (with my husband) to get a good picture outside and just see how it comes out — but gotta be quick so the nosy neighbors don’t see us!

We tried a few different spots that were somewhat concealed near the front of the house and near the landscaping.  Overall I was pleased with how the pictures turned out except, A) I now know why style bloggers wear sunglasses when they take pictures outside!  I always used to think “why are they always wearing sunglasses, for reallzzzz…” and B) when you’re trying to snap a quick pic, neither one of us noticed my shirt was a little wrinkled and folded up — oops! So welcome to my first attempt at blogging outside with my squinting eyes and wrinkled shirt…..

blue for bullying awareness

Today I wore a shade of blue for bullying awareness.  I’m not sure this is technically an “official” day, but a group of my favorite IG bloggers put together a day for awareness after a series of incidents occurred to one of our fellow bloggers online.  I think it’s important to remember bullying can occur in all shapes and sizes — whether via social media or in person — and to those young and old alike.   So here’s to promoting kindness. Plain and simple.

insta update

Well hello!  It’s been awhile!  (I know, I know….) I really thought blogging would get easier after rotations and graduation were finished, but boy was I wrong!  Selling your entire life and moving across the country is no joke. But, it’s been a refreshing experience and we are all settled in now.

Unfortunately regular blogging will still be on hold for a little while.  My husband and I are living in my dad’s winter home about 30 minutes south of where we will be working.  And although I greatly appreciate his generosity in loaning us this house and saving us oodles of money, it’s not exactly the easiest to blog. While we don’t live in a retirement community, it’s totally a retirement community.  I feel like the hills have eyes around us.  But there are no hills, so it’s just the nosy neighbors.  And there are rules upon rules.  I didn’t see anything in the association rules about taking random pictures of women in the street not being allowed, but I have an inkling that might be unwarranted. Whateryagunnodo?
So anyway, until we buy our own house (hopefully sooner than later!), instagram updates it is.  Which aren’t so bad, they just don’t feature the full effect of how the outfit details truly lay and fit.
IG outfit #1:
This was my first true “Floridian” outfit worn last week – I was so excited to finally be able to wear these shorts!  I loved them so much, I think I purchased them back in like, February? Eep.  I can’t say enough about these types of shorts though!  They are pull-on! And comfy.  J. Crew Factory carries them in tons of colors, and this particular print is now on clearance.  Win-win!  My tank is a relaxed boyfriend-type fit and I bought quite a few colors when they were on sale for $6. They are lightweight, loose-fit, and perfect for summer. And did I mention they have 13 different prints and colors?!  Yup, I need more.

IG outfit #2:
This dress is so easy.  It’s just a simple shift and perfect for summer.  Last season I was all about Loft and Target — this spring Old Navy has been my go to for simple, affordable outfits that feel and look more expensive then they are.  I didn’t wear a necklace on this particular day. I’ve noticed that I get a little uncomfortable with the southern Florida humidity when things are around my neck.  Stacking bracelets?  No problem. 🙂

go to

This is for sure a “go to” outfit when it comes to dressing casual, comfy, and maybe even a little lazy. Throw on a necklace and watch to dress it up a little and I’m out the door!  Now if only dressing for work was so easy.

huge instagram update

Life is out.of.control. right now!  No other way to describe it!  I’ve become a hustler of all things furniture and garage sale worthy. Seriously, people should hire me. Maybe I don’t need this degree after all? (kidding!).  The good news is I’m all done with clinical rotations!  I know I’ve said this before – but blogging might become somewhat normal again (I repeat, somewhat…). 🙂

So here’s a little recap of Instagram outfits over the last week or so. Hope you all had a great weekend!

tunics and leggings

Are tunics and leggings still in?  All I know is this tunic is ridiculously comfortable, covers my bum, and allows me to wear comfy pants to work.  And that my friends, is why this is a style blog and not really “fashion.” Cuz my fashun might be so 2 years ago.  Eep.  But really — it comes in a ton of colors!  I recommend sizing down (runs large).

To go along with my love for all things stripes & gingham, I was pretty pumped when I found these gingham pants.  And they aren’t pajamas or shorts, and can actually be worn to work – win win for me!
