2021 NSale Purchases
Happy Saturday everyone! I hope you all are having a refreshing weekend! My husband and I have laid low this weekend so far – we have so many home projects going at once that I let him work on those and I’m perfectly content relaxing and reading a book!
Today I wanted to share my initial in-store Nordstrom Anniversary Sale purchases. I posted the other day that I decided to try something new this year. I purchased all of my items for in-store pickup at my local Nordstrom. Of course not a lot of things on my wish list were in store, but it honestly worked out because I love what I purchased! I also utilized Nordstrom’s curbside pickup, which was seamless and so easy. I beat the crowds and honestly I was A-OK with that!
Some things on my wish list (that weren’t available at my local store) also came back with poor reviews, so I feel like I dodged a bullet there! Below are my 5 in-store purchases.
By list:
- Cece puff sleeve top
- 1.state twist-back top
- Caslon striped long sleeve tee
- Steve Madden mules in navy-multi and cognac suede
Up first is the Cece puff sleeve top. I decided it was smarter to focus on items I can wear now or are better suited for Florida since we never know when/if our cooler weather is going to creep in. I’ve been a long time fan of the CeCe brand, but with the higher price point I pass the brand up frequently. When a sale hits, they do sell out fast. I was happy too see this puff sleeve top – it’s really nice! A little heavier/thicker material, not flimsy, and not clingy. The lace puff sleeves add a nice feminine detail also. 5 colorways available and priced at $29, I felt like it’s worth the price for sure! I’m wearing my regular size small and fit is TTS.
I paired this top with the navy-multi ‘tweed’ mules from Steve Madden. Every year I purchase a version of these mules and this year did not disappoint! I picked up 2 colors just to be safe haha! Reviews suggest sizing up 1/2 size. I went with my regular size, but I have small/narrow feet. I could have sized up and I think they would have fit fine also and not been too big.
Re: jeans – I’m wearing the Wit & Wisdom jeans from last Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. These are the jeans (in a new color) I wanted to pick up this year, but was sold out at my store. I’m planning to order them online now – highly recommend! They are have a stretchy waistband, kind of like maternity jeans, and super comfy! Can’t beat the price either!
Next was an unexpected purchase – this twist back top from 1.state. I’ve never purchased anything by this brand, but was very drawn to the simple waffle knit with the cute twist in the back. I’m in love with this top! It’s truly the perfect length, so soft, a perfect weight (especially for Florida winters…. Fall for you all up north!) and will look great with the Spanx leggings!
Fit is TTS. I’m wearing my regular size small. Comes in several colorways! I’m thinking the rust is on my wish list now!
Last up is this striped long sleeve tee that I buy a new version of every year and is on sale for $18! I tucked it in here, but it’s extremely easy to style as a front tuck also – lots of length! My favorite way to style it is with a denim skirt for work. I’m loving this striped colorway, but there are several solid colors and also a black/white stripe.
I’m wearing my regular size small. Fit is TTS. Great basic! And easy to wear now in the summer in the air conditioning. 🙂

… and that’s a wrap! I’m still on the fence of what I may order online. I kind of set myself a budget for this year, so I’m debating whether I want to try new jeans or maybe a few other tops I’ve had my eye on. One is the Halogen sweater that sold out so fast. However, I know this will likely be restocked. This is a Nordstrom house brand and they usually carry these year round.
Let me know if you guys found any must-haves that you love! The NSale can be a drain, but also so fun – I have items in my closet from years and years ago still going strong!
Happy weekend!
