NSale Preview: My Wish List

Happy Tuesday! Guess what today is?! Okay you probably already know if you follow a multitude of bloggers, but it’s Day 1 of the preview for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! The NSale is by far one of my favorite sales of the year. I’ve been shopping the sale for quite awhile ~ I think I was introduced to it in 2013/2014? Certainly not in its infancy, but I’ve learned to navigate the sale quite well!

What is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale? Essentially, a preview of fall items at a great discount. Will these items pop up again later in the year? Yes, they likely will. But, sizes and coloring options may be limited. Nordstrom usually features items that are curated specifically for the sale and/or items in specific prints/color tailored for the sale. I suppose that’s why I have such a fun time shopping it – you’re likely to score a unique find that less people are likely to have later in the year!

If you could only purchase a handful of items, what would you shop for? So, here’s the deal. You can get really geared up and if you have the funds to purchase – there is a lot to be shopped at the sale! But, I’ve realized as time goes by, my favorite items are normally limited to the basics. I ask myself, “How can I improve my closet for this fall/winter season and add some great basics to make it better than when I started?” That’s how you limit the amount you spend and come out with a deal on really nice items that you will actually use and wear.

When does the sale start? Early access starts July 12th for cardholders that spend a ridiculous amount of money at Nordstrom every year (no judging lol… I wish I could!). July 16th is the start date for regular cardholders (that would be me haha). Public Access starts July 28th for those that do not have a Nordy credit card. I do think it’s worth shopping the sale with their credit card even if it’s the only time you shop at Nordstrom all year long. Otherwise, you do run risk that items will sell out before July 28th. The sale then runs through August 8th.

So, what did you add to your wish list? This year I went for tried & true items from brands I know and love (Steve Madden, Vince Camuto, Halogen, Treasure & Bond, Baublebar). I surprisingly didn’t find any handbags I liked. Usually the NSale has a few affordable handbags I will have my eye on, but nothing this time around. I also wasn’t super impressed with their denim line up. However, I feel like sometimes things pop up on ‘go day’ that weren’t there before. And sometimes I splurge for premium denim. We will see – today is only day 1 and I can’t even shop for 10 days ha!

My wish list: Below are my top picks. Everything shown below comes in a multitude of coloring options and/or prints! The buckle mules actually come in a fun tweed print as well — I went with the basic cognac, but I have my eye on that tweed! The booties are updates on versions from previous years. I honestly may hold off on booties initially, but the mules I’m here for! And I’m loving the blue loafers for work! The gray sweater is an update from last years sweater – it’s a great basic! I purchased the ivory last year and loved it both tucked into skirts and worn with jeans. The gold earrings will finish off any outfit and love the color for fall/winter.
