Amazon Review: Blue Light Blocking Glasses
Hi everyone! For today’s blog post, I wanted to share another Amazon company that I was given the opportunity to work with. The company is called “Livho”, but if you follow my links below, it will take you to both Livho and Gaoye, which are the same company (not to create confusion). They sent me 2 pairs of blue light blocking glasses, in exchange for a open & honest review, in which I was more than happy to share!
I am no stranger to blue-light blocking glasses. I’m a retail pharmacist at my big girl job (for the largest company in the world *hint* LOL), and pre-Covid, commonly worked 12-13 hour days. In this pandemic world, we have shortened our pharmacy hours, so I usually work 11 hour shifts…. which is still a long day! And I literally stand at the computer verifying orders 95% of the time. Ocular migraines became a big part of my world a few years ago. When I started to develop an aura pre-migraine, I became increasingly worried. Along with my blog, a love for social media, and the random Facebook scroll throughout the day, I was on the computer a lot.
One of the podcasts I listen to shared advertisements for a company called MVMT, and my husband purchased my first set of blue light blocking glasses for Christmas a couple years ago. They were a life saver!!! However, this is the only company I have a comparator to and previously the only set of blue-light block glasses I owned. They were also quite pricy at $75 considering there are so many more affordable options available now. I was very happy to compare this Amazon brand to my expensive version at home!
The first set of glasses they sent me are these “retro round” frames. My MVMT glasses are like the 2nd Amazon pair shown below in regards to style, so I was happy to try a wire-rimmed pair! These are priced at $20 and come in 8 color options.
The second pair of glasses are these “tranluscent” style that are a plastic frame and more commonly seen with blue-light blocking glasses. These are priced at $18 and come in 4 color options.
I wanted to wear each of these glasses for at least a couple of days sitting at the computer so I could give an honest review of how they felt. I will say another benefit to blue-light blocking glasses is the prevention of dry eye as well as headaches.
I can honestly say that I did not get a headache with either pair and my eyes felt fine! For the price, I wouldn’t hesitate to try either of these! The style you choose is really more of a preference. The only difference between the plastic pair from Amazon and the more expensive pair I own from MVMT, is the heaviness. I’m sure the materials used from MVMT are more expensive, and therefore add to the weight – and honestly that may be a good or bad thing depending on who you ask and how it feels on your face.
Size wise, I have a small face, and sometimes struggle with plastic frames. My MVMT glasses are a 50 mm size frame, and the Amazon pairs are 50 (plastic) and 51 (wire) mm frames. I didn’t have an issue with either and both ear pieces were adjustable inward or outward to fit better.
Overall, I give these a great rating! And honestly, the nearly 5 star reviews on Amazon speak for themselves – I don’t think they really needed my input. 🙂 But, truly – if you are wanting to try a pair for a great price – these Amazon pairs are worth it! Your head (and eyes) will thank you!
