Casual Style: Combat Boots
Hi everyone! So, blogging has taken a little bit of a back seat lately. I found out my new schedule at work was going to be later than expected. I’ll be working 10:30-7 pm M-F (originally it was 9-5:30). And honestly, it took me back for a second after I was expecting an earlier shift, but I’m embracing it now. I quite like the idea that I’ll have more time in the mornings. I’m 100% a morning person, and love the fact now that the weather is cooling down we will have time to hike in the mornings, go for runs, bike ride, maybe grab some breakfast, etc. before work. I think it will actually be really good for me.
However, I’m not sure where blogging fits in there. We finished our training (on camera) yesterday, and our trainer jokingly told us we can ‘dress like a hobo’ now if we want (ha!). I do have to get dressed somewhat, shower, put minimal makeup on, etc. before work so I feel productive (I’m like that on weekends also). But, will I wear more joggers and sweat-shorts & tees? Absolutely. I honestly thought maybe blogging would come to a halt altogether, but I still love fashion. I love the way an outfit can make you feel and provide confidence. Feel empowering. So I’m not ending the blog. But, I may just be popping in periodically here and there. Sharing the best things only and unlikely to share everyday outfits (unless I’m wearing the latest and greatest sweatpants 😆).
Anyway, as always ~ thank you for following along on this journey with me!
Below I’m sharing a couple of new Target finds. They truly have been my go-to lately! Affordable, good quality, and trendy? Yes! So, you might remember my boots from a few weeks back. I was discussing shoe trends and how I wasn’t sure I was on board. I purchased this sweater last week and really wanted a lighter/off-white color boot to go with them. Then I saw another blogger share these combat boots actually tried on (I feel like I’ve seen pictures but no try ons), and okay okay I caved! Would I spend $150 on boots like these? Absolutely not. But I would spend $40. So here we are! They are actually pretty comfy also. Easy to get on (see zipper on the side!). Fit is TTS. A little roomy also for socks. If you have really cold winters and think you might opt for a camp (thicker) sock, I would maybe go up 1/2 size. But as-is they are perfect for regular socks.
As far as styling, I would stick with a legging or skinny jean. I’m honestly not a fan of the wide leg look with a round toe boot. Want to wear a boot cut jean with a pointy toe? Sure! But round toe and flare leg? Ehhh. 🙂
Well, I hope you all are having a great weekend so far! We ran to the mall for some returns and I purchased the most adorable Christmas tee from LOFT with a little dog graphic and Xmas lights. Who knows when/if it will show up online, so if you have a local store and love pups – run! It’s so cute and will sell out fast!
Happy Saturday!
