Casual Style: Pleated Pull-On Shorts

Happy Wednesday! … I think! I can’t keep my days straight! I thought 2020 was the confusing year, but I feel like my brain has left me more so in 2021! Ahh, anyway – I hope everyone survived Elsa that lives down here in Florida. I know she’s now headed toward the east coast, but hopefully as a weak tropical depression. We were lucky here – she was downgraded to a tropical storm before coming into the Tampa Bay Area last night, and since we live much farther inland than our last home (15 miles from the beach) I think our wind gusts were in the 30s and 40s. Certainly nothing like a hurricane and thankfully no tornadoes up this way. And luckily still have power and internet!

I wanted to share a fun pair of shorts I recently picked up – do you remember the ‘boardwalk’ short from J.Crew? They were a pull-on short with an elastic waist and became incredibly popular in circa 2015/2016 when the Factory store released a ton of cute prints. I ended up selling all of mine because either my booty grew or the shorts shrunk (haha), but boy do I miss them! I actually watch for some of my favorite old prints to pop up on Poshmark in my size. Nothing like stretchy shorts to wear in the summer!

Well, LOFT just released a snazzier version that I had to try and they are now my new favorite! These shorts are pleated, so I would say a little dressier than the Factory version, but still super comfy!

sizing: I’m wearing my normal size: medium/petite. The regular size is a 4″ inseam and the petites are 3.5″. The waistband has plenty of stretch and very comfortable.
