Casual Style: Scallop Shorts

Happy Saturday friends! I want to give a huge thank you to anyone who still reads here. 💗 Now that Florida has gone into full summer mode already, I’ve been thinking about posting new outfits again – I’ve been such a flaky blogger for awhile, but we are more than settled into our new home, my new job, my husband’s new job – so many changes in the last 10 months!

I thought I would kick off this spring/summer with a few new items from my tried and true – J.Crew Factory! My top, shorts, and earrings are all new arrivals from their latest release. Due to inflation, I’ve been a little more picky about when I purchase items. I’ve noticed price increases at most retailers and also sales seem to happen more infrequently. However, JCF has a promo currently where if you spend $100 you can save 20% with code spring20 – so I finally made a few purchases including my outfit below!

My top runs TTS, but does have room – I’m a true size small and could have likely sized down to an XS. I would say order your regular size, unless you are in between sizes or smaller in the chest, then I would go down one size. It’s a button-up with functional buttons in the front. I went up one size in the shorts. I normally wear an 28/6 and I’m wearing a size 8. I feel like the shorts run small, but I’m also old enough I don’t like shorts to hug in the precarious places. 😆 I can’t say enough good things about my earrings! They are trendy, fun, and super lightweight! I wore them all day and didn’t feel a thing. They come in several coloring options.

Also, a huge shoutout to the company who makes my watchband – if you like to support small business, I can’t say good enough things about this company! They are called Strawberry Avocados and a Florida based company! I have a few of their watchbands now and will continue to buy more. They are comfortable, good quality, and affordable! Highly recommend!
