Casual Style: Tie-Waist Shorts + NSale
Hi friends! So today is the day for cardholders – access to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! Did you shop? What did you buy? You can see my initial wish list post here. I ended up trying something different out this year in hopes I would get items faster. I didn’t really want to shop in store. Pre-Covid I wasn’t a fan of crowds, and this year is no different lol. I figured I could order in store for ‘pickup today’ and pop in for curbside pickup. Yeah, that was 7 hours ago and my order is still ‘being prepared.’ I’m guessing if customer service hasn’t pulled items yet, they are long sold out. We will see, but I likely will not order again that way next year.
I also ordered different items from what was on my wish list based on reviews and what was available at my store. Top of my wish list were these Steve Madden mules – ordered 2 pairs. Hoping if anything pans out its those! Everything else on my wish list was sold out or my store doesn’t carry. I instead went with 2 pairs of tried and true jean brands – Kut from the Kloth and Wit & Wisdom. I also ordered a few tops that caught my eye a second time around – this unique twist back top from 1.state, mixed media top from CeCe that I can wear now, and one of my favorite basic tees from Caslon. I figure if all the jeans and tops get cancelled, hopefully the shoes I wanted to begin with are still available and I’ll get them online! Last year shipping took what felt like decades so I was hoping to avoid that this year. We will see – the NSale drama is TBD! Lol.
However, I wanted to share with you a fun summer casual outfit. My shorts are another fun pull-on tie waist option that are very comfy but also keep you looking put together. And hello, look at this new satchel! Can you say fun designer dupe? And guess where it’s from?…. Target!!! Only $30! I have a few of their others bags on my wish list also – they are true fall transitional, so I’m holding off on those for a bit. We will see how long that lasts haha!
