Fall Style: Lady Tweed Cardigan + Cap Toe Flats
Happy September! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend! Our (new to us… again) city did not have much going on this weekend, so my husband and I took the time to continue to decorate our new home and finish a few projects around the house. I’ve started running again recently and oy! talk about how being sore! I jogged a little over 2 miles my first outing and could hardly walk the next day – let’s just say I’m going to ease back into this one! I used to run 5k races frequently (I applaud those half/full marathon runners – 5ks for me are fun, if I go farther it’s no longer fun (lol), but when we moved to Florida in 2015 the heat and humidity were no match for me. I powered through the first couple of years until I no longer enjoyed running. Now that we live in a cooler climate again, I’m hoping to get back into it! I’m excited to run a few holiday-type races this fall/winter! …If I can walk again by then ha!
I’m sure you’ve noticed retailers are now in full Fall fashion mode now – my absolute favorite time of year! I wanted to kick off my first fall style post this year with a fashion trend I’m seeing all over – the updated version of the ‘lady’ cardigan. Stolen from French style, these cardigans are extremely chic. I’ve also seen the return of the cap toe ballet flat. I had a pair of Merona (remember that brand?) from Target 10+ years ago and now regret selling them! I swear fashion truly is cyclical. I found a picture of Meghan Markle wearing a tweed cardigan and wanted to create a similar style – see below!
I really like the new J.Crew Factory version of this tweed cardigan – It’s somewhat more relaxed than a boucle tweed and easy to pair with flats, booties, or sneakers!
tan tweed cardigan | necklace | bracelets | black tweed cardigan
gold chain bag | cap toe flats | boyfriend jeans | mock neck top
Below are a round up of my favorite tweed style cardigans and cap toe flats available from various retailers, including Amazon!

Love the cardigans & the shoes especially! Are you familiar with capsule wardrobes at all? I would love to see you put one together for fall this year. You are so creative!

I am familiar with capsule wardrobes! I think the other bloggers that take the time to do them are a treasure – I imagine they take a ton of time and energy! Thank you for thinking of me that I have what it takes to create one 🙂 Maybe if I get a free weekend here soon I’ll give it a try! I hope you’re having a great weekend!
