J.Crew ~ Spring 2021 New Arrivals
Moving update:
Hi friends! I hope everyone is doing well! We are all settled into our temporary apartment up in Tampa. And boy do I remember what apartment living is like! Oy. We lived in an apartment for 2 years during pharmacy school until we couldn’t take it anymore and decided to rent a house. Best decision we ever made! And now I remember why lol! Honestly, the apartment part isn’t horrible. It’s mostly I can hear the neighbors upstairs moving around (I’m going to say they have a child… someone keeps running around up there… yet, I haven’t seen said child… so perhaps adults running from one end of the apartment to the other end? Hmm..) Thankfully they seem to go to bed when we do.
Our dogs have settled inside the apartment fine also. They are pretty scared of all the stuff outside though – the ‘complex’ is a master planned community, so lots of traffic coming and going. Not to mention, half of it is under construction still, so lots of dump trucks going down the main drag. So our morning and evening walks aren’t very joyful. We’ve started loading the dogs up in the car in the mornings and trying to find peaceful places to walk (we go 2-3 miles, so need lots of space). Nothing like a gut punch to make you miss ‘home’ and our beautiful community in Venice where you could stay in the neighborhood and walk 5-6 miles if you choose. People aren’t very friendly here either – if I pass a dog person who says hello and asks about my dogs and vice versa, I think I want to cry and hug them lol!
In the world of this pandemic, I’m probably more likely to scare people away. 🙂 Ha! We just have to survive a couple of months really – if that! Our new house is expected to close on May 28th and honestly I’m ready to go buy a blow up mattress and move in that evening haha! However, we probably won’t be able to move with our work schedules until the 1st week of June. And would like to have all the “things” installed (fence, RO system, water softener, etc.) before settling in. We also found out our new house does not come with hurricane shutters? I was like… wait, come again? Did we move out of Florida? Lol. Apparently it’s not code up here. Down in Venice, we were 6 miles from the beach, so code stated they had to be installed with the house. Our new home in Tampa is farther from the beach – maybe 12-15 miles? Farther, but um, pretty sure hurricanes come inland? No? Eek. So, that will be something we need to investigate. For peace of mind anyway.
New arrivals:
Anyway, enough about the move – today I wanted to share new arrivals from J.Crew! I’m loving this color palette for spring. Neutrals, but with a touch of color. We are still on the comfort train also, and that’s ok! I’m guessing a lot of us are still WFH anyway, or not getting out much regardless. I haven’t placed an order yet, but plan to do so once items go on sale! Happy shopping!
