Stitch Fix Freestyle

Hi friends! Today’s blog post I want to talk about all things Stitch Fix! I’m sure you’ve heard of Stitch Fix for years – the company that sends you a box of clothes, personally styled just for you, keep what you like and return what you don’t, right? I’ve honestly never tried a subscription clothing service, so when the folks at Stitch Fix reached out for a collaboration, I didn’t hesitate to say yes! However, I figured I would be reviewing their subscription box service, but that wasn’t the case. Stitch Fix recently dropped a whole new way to shop called “Freestyle.” And I’m here to tell you – it’s pretty awesome!

At first I was hesitant, I mean why not have a personal stylist pick out the items, that’s easier right? Maybe! But, I feel like if you can be picky on types of clothing, certain colors, fabrics, etc. then Freestyle is likely for you!

How does Freestyle work? It’s pretty simple. You basically can shop all items and brands listed on the website by yourself, add to your cart, and order.

How is it different from other shopping websites? Here is the cool part. Say you search for example, “Kut from the Kloth” because you love their brand of jeans or “pink skirt” for an upcoming spring event, the search engine will bring up all items that match your search. Once you click on the item you are looking for, Stitch Fix Freestyle then generates quite a few “outfit ideas” that match the item you are looking at.

The coolest part? The search engine is really smart! If you say click on the pink skirt you’re looking for, the website may bring up a few outfits to complement that pink skirt. You see a shirt you like, so you click on said shirt… The database then generates more outfits to go along with that shirt, including the prior skirt, and say a blazer or jacket to complete your outfit. And then you may see shorts that go along with that shirt, so you click on the shorts, and then a new outfit will be generated with the shirt, shorts, and jacket you were looking it with the original skirt. I hope that makes sense – it’s very cool!

I wanted to pick a few items out for the blog to share how it worked when I shopped via Freestyle. Some of the brands on the Stitch Fix website are well known brands like Sanctuary, Liverpool, Lilly, Kut from the Kloth, etc and others lesser known quality brands. I ordered a mix of both – and I like the more affordable/unknown brands just as much as the more popular brands!

Here is an example below of what I see when I log in currently to Stitch Fix, the database knows what I’ve already ordered and is now suggesting new items to further make new outfits! It’s genius really! And these are just a few examples, I think it gave me like 20 outfits ideas lol.

Below are the items I ordered:

Market & Spruce striped top

Papermoon floral strappy tank top

Liverpool denim jacket

Sanctuary carpenter skirt

Just USA frayed shorts

And now for the outfits! Below are the mix and match outfits I created using the Stitch Fix suggestions! I was very happy with everything I picked out. I only used the items I ordered below, but all items are great quality, fit perfectly, and could easily be paired with items already in your closet.

I highly recommend the Stitch Fix service. Right now you can get $20 off your first order with sign up!
