On Trend: The V-Neck Boxy Cardigan

Hello all! I thought I would start an ‘on trend’ section on the blog… what would be a style blog without it, right?! I feel like fall 2020 trends are trickling in slowly. Sometimes it takes a little bit before the runway trends convert over to ‘real life’ fashion trends, and then our favorite retailers also catch on and create their own version.

One big trend I’ve noticed so far this season are v-neck boxy cardigans. Not a regular cardi, not a long cardi, and not oversized – these are somewhat cropped (or hit at the hip), only have 3-4 buttons, and a v-neck. The variations come in textures, prints, and sleeves.

The most popular way to wear these popular cardigans is with only a bralette underneath, or if you have a longer torso, you can probably get away with a regular bra also! I styled a few ways to wear the Amazon cardigan in a previous blog post (here), including with a bralette. I will say this cardigan is more oversized then most options available, but it has all of the other details so I included it in the roundup. 🙂

Another way is of course unbuttoned like normal, and options for what you wear underneath are endless. Turtleneck, graphic tee, camisole, you name it!

And finally, I’ve rounded up my favorite v-neck cardigan options from my favorite retailers! Like mentioned before, each brand has put their own spin on the cardigan. Some have a print, some have the acrylic fuzzy texture, some are ribbed, some have pockets, some have balloon sleeves…. so many options! As shown above, I have the Amazon cardigan and the Old Navy cardigan. However, I love all of these options!
