Work Style: Print Mix

Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing a work outfit I wore the other day ~ went a little old school with print mixing! My skirt is a new arrival from J.Crew Factory which I picked up in this floral print and also in leopard! I got lots of compliments and my coworkers said I looked I belonged in a French cafe… I wish!

The key to a good print mix is incorporating the same base color in both top and bottom. My skirt has a black base, so I chose a black/white striped top.

I chose sneakers (again), because guys… I can’t wear flats anymore! Like I’m pretty sure I can’t even bare to put my feet in them any longer. 2020 ruined everything! I still have quite a few loafers and comfy ballet flats, but I think I may sell a lot of my flats that I rarely wore that often to begin with. I’m sure times will change and ballet flats and pumps will come back eventually, but right now I’m here for the sneakers! I’m actually excited about summer so I can indulge in sandals at least on my days off work lol!

*sizing: I’m wearing my regular size in the skirt (size 6), and it fits a tad big. I didn’t want to size down because I’m not a fan of tight fitting skirts, but if you are in between sizes I would definitely size down. For reference, this past winter I purchased a size 8 (so I sized up) in the wool buffalo plaid skirt. This pleated skirt fits looser then that, so if you are familiar with JCF skirts, I would not size up if you’ve done so in the past.

My top is really old ~ remember the Merona brand from Target? Yup, that old! I’ll link similar below. 🙂
