Work Style: Lacy Ruffle Sleeve Top + Life update!

Life update: Skip below if you’re only here for the outfit. 🙂 Hi friends! I have quite the announcement today! I’ve given notice to my current employer after accepting a work from home position with an insurance company! If you know me personally, I have worked in retail pharmacy for 16 years. I started from the ground up as a technician, worked into a lead tech role, then intern, and now for the last 6 years I’ve been a retail pharmacist. And honestly… I’m tired. Real tired. You know us retail folk always joke about finding new jobs, we have bad days and say “I can’t do this anymore!”… but…

  • J.Crew Factory striped skirt

    Work Style: Tie-Waist Skirt

Well hello friends! I hope you all are having a great Monday so far. I’m off work again today, but then head back tomorrow. I’m motivated to kind of keep up my blog this week and post as much as I can, but I feel like I don’t have a ton of content. You’ve heard me say this before, but the ‘transition’ months are always the worst. We are all kind of burned out from summer fashion, but it’s still too hot to wear fall fashion. As a blogger, I try to post ‘transitional’ outfit posts as much as I can, but a lot of times that doesn’t make a…

  • Express scallop blouse, Express mid rise colored jeans, Crown Vintage wedge sandals, LOFT bag

    Work Style: Colored Jeans

Happy Sunday! Had to think about that one! 😁 I drove back ‘home’ today (still consider Sarasota area home… going to take me awhile to change that lol!) out in the country to see my horses. While I don’t really ride or show horses anymore (it was a huge part of my life from like age 3 til college years), I still care for and own my 2 retired show mares. I thought about moving them closer to me up here in Tampa, but they are well cared for and thriving where they are so I’ve left them down south for now. It’s only a little over 1.5 hours from…

  • J.Crew Factory denim shift dress

    Work Outfit: Denim Dress

Happy Monday friends! I hope you all had a safe and fun 4th of July holiday! I honestly don’t love the fireworks (not a fan of crowds and noise), so traditionally we stay home and watch good movies. Mostly for the dogs also since they hate the noise. We watched ‘The Tomorrow War’ with Chris Pratt on Amazon Prime last night – highly recommend if you like action movies! Had quite a bit of humor mixed with action which we enjoy. And covered up the fireworks sound quite nicely! And say hello to my blank wall space! My first ‘blog’ photo in the new house! This wall will eventually have…

  • LOFT floral pintucked top, Ann Taylor Gigi ballet flats, GAP cigarette jeans

    Work Outfit: Floral Pintucked Top

Happy Wednesday! Is the week really halfway done? I went back to work this week and I’m tired lol! I forgot what getting up at 5 am with 6.5-7 hours of sleep and standing on my feet all day feels like apparently ha! Funnily enough though – I’m only working 8 hour shifts the next 2 weeks. I shouldn’t even be complaining – I should be celebrating! And we found out today our pharmacy store hours are returning to pre-Covid times in July, which means bring on the 12-13 hour shifts ugh. I do not miss those. I’m dreading every second of it. So I should soak up the 8…

  • J.Crew factory pleated skirt

    Work Style: Print Mix

Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing a work outfit I wore the other day ~ went a little old school with print mixing! My skirt is a new arrival from J.Crew Factory which I picked up in this floral print and also in leopard! I got lots of compliments and my coworkers said I looked I belonged in a French cafe… I wish! The key to a good print mix is incorporating the same base color in both top and bottom. My skirt has a black base, so I chose a black/white striped top. I chose sneakers (again), because guys… I can’t wear flats anymore! Like I’m pretty sure I can’t…

  • LOFT smocked top. LOFT tiered skirt

    Work Style: Floral Tiered Skirt

Happy Tuesday everyone! I had to think about that one for a second – hard to remember what day of the week it is lol! No new house updates (yet) – we have the appraisal and inspection set for our current home this week. Dreading the appraisal portion since housing prices are elevated right now and hoping we have a committed buyer. Crossing fingers! I wanted to share my work outfit with you today ~ I’ve become a huge fan of LOFT’s tiered skirts for work. Mostly because they have an elastic waistband! 🙂 And that means they are really comfortable. I apologize for the lack of sizing in my…

  • Work Style: Winter Skirts

Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing a couple of work outfit ideas with skirts I’ve picked up this past winter season! Sizing is limited on both skirts, but I’ll link other options below ~ most of which are easy to throw tights and loafers/booties on if you live up north! Printed skirts with a little color and/or pattern are so easy to match with a plain sweater also. It’s such an easy formulation to follow: printed skirt + colored/bold sweater with plain coloring. I always avoid ‘boring’ sweaters in the store, but then regret not having them in my closet when I pick up a fun skirt! Outfit #1: This skirt…

  • J.Crew holiday style

    Outfit Idea: Pine Green Skirt

I just love holiday style and all of the tartan plaid with bright holiday colors. I’m sharing a couple of outfit ideas below that can easily be worn pre- and post- holiday. Just switch out the tartan plaid for fun earrings instead.. or even fun socks! That way the January/February transition into spring clothes is a little easier and you can still wear your new holiday clothes without screaming Christmas. 🙂 bow sweater | gold button sweater | green wool skirt fleece lined tights | tier drop earrings | plaid headband bracelet | socks | booties I hope you all had a great weekend! ~xoxo, Kecia

  • Old Navy Pixie Pants 1 item, 3 ways

1 Item, 3 Ways: The Pixie Pant

Happy Friday everyone! Tonight on the blog I’m posting about the ever so coveted Old Navy Pixie Pant! A long time favorite for affordable work wear, I’ve always had a soft spot in my heart for these pants. I was first introduced to them maybe 7-8 years ago during pharmacy school. They were a game changer for me since they usually go on sale under $30, come in a variety of prints and colors, and wash well… and not to mention they come in petite sizing! They are listed as a skinny pant, but they fit me more loosely for whatever reason, which is honestly good for comfort on my…
